The Sydney Swans will take on North Melbourne for the Mangrook Trophy in Round 10 of the 2016 home and away season.

The AFL confirmed the fixture for the annual Indigenous Round on Wednesday morning after announcing it would be named in honour of Sir Doug Nicholls.

With the full fixture to be released on Thursday the league confirmed the Swans would take on North Melbourne on Friday May 27 at the SCG.

Good:
  • We finally play the Eagles at the SCG! First time since 2010.
  • A Sunday home game v Melbourne after none this year
Bad:
  • We play at Geelong again, will be 10 times in 11 years. This is also the 2nd of 3 games in 12 days that includes the Dogs and Hawks. Tough run.
  • We play Norf at Blundstone. urgh.
  • Collingwood, Carlton and Essendon at ANZ.

Also wtf carlton at ANZ, literally nobody will go to that game. Play it at the scg and it'd be ~28k
1:45pm will probably pull more than if it was a night game, particularly if they do a bunch of family promos.

Only having to play West Coast and Fremantle once, and getting to play Carlton twice? What an absolutely gift-wrapped draw :thumbsu:

The double games are against Hawthorn, Norf, Richmond, GWS, Carlton. Only 1 double game against a top 6 side on the ladder! Best we could have possibly got.

We play two top 4 teams twice, Norf finished top 4. Still a decent draw (was to be expected since we did finish out of the top 4).

No time for Melbourne people to drive down after work?

At peak hour on a Friday Night heading to Geelong at the best of times by car is a nightmare and would take more than the normal hour to cover. Driving would almost be ruled out as an option except for the fact trains coming back are limited after the game, making the game an overnight stay:drunk:.

Ahh fair enough i had no idea it was that bad.

No Carlton fans will even come. The last lot got very scared by an imaginary spear, and i expect it'll take them a couple of seasons to get over the stress.
