Lists updated to 19/12/17. Please check your lists and see if there are any errors.

Unless there is an error in the lists, a few decisions need to be made by coaches who are over the cap/list size. As with Brisbane I will give some extra time to get your lists right. The draft may be delayed a day or two as a result. Can these coaches please post their preference ASAP by posting in this thread.

Harbour City Hornets knobby
Have 45 senior listed players/unpasabble picks. Options:
  1. Delist a senior listed player
  2. Make a 2 for 1 trade with a team that is under list size - only 1 trade - no major pieces moved in trade. Purely to get under list size.
  3. Firesale
Launceston Marklar_33
Have 45 senior listed players/unpassable picks and $51,000 over the cap as a result of most recent bids.

As being over the cap/list size is a direct result of your bids yesterday, your options are:
  1. Rescind your bid/rookie promotion on one of Rowan Marshall, Cameron Zurharr, Nathan Wright or Joshua Schoenfield.
  2. Rescind both of your rookie promotions on Rowan Marshall and Cameron Zurharr and replace one of them with a rookie retention.
  3. Firesale

Yes I can! Delist Brodie Martin only at 75%. Saves a list spot and more than 51k
Didn't even think of this one. That is perfectly fine and gets you under the cap.

Sorry I thought I had delisted Jesse White! My bad!

Please delist Jesse White. Do I get 25% now because he’s no longer on an AFL list? I’ve budgeted for 0 so no big deal.

Yeah you pay only 75% of his contract as he is no longer on an AFL list. That gets you to the 44 list limit so all good.

Is Brett Eddy a free delist? As he was a draftee on fixed 2 year deal?
It's a good question that I'm not 100% sure of the answer. I had a look at this sort of case a little while ago but then completely forgot about it.

My initial thoughts before I read the rules were that he wasn't a 0% delist as he was an AFL rookie on a one year deal. However, all I can find in the rules on delisting are what I've highlighted below. The rules do not seem to differentiate between 1st year rookie or senior listed player on an AFL list and therefore I think Brett Eddy would qualify as a 0% delistment.

Unless other coaches can think of a precedence that was set in previous years that contradicts this, then I'm happy enough for Eddy to count as a 0% delisting.

Delisting Contracted players
Contracted players may be delisted but:
  • Those who walk away due to lack of motivation or similar will have their contract terminated immediately with no further payment.
  • Those who are first year players and are delisted by their AFL club and not picked up in any AFL draft can be delisted with no further payment.
  • Those who retire due to injury must be paid 50% of their contracted salary per year remaining on the contract.
  • Those who are delisted by or pushed into retirement by their AFL clubs (i.e. not on an AFL list and not meeting any of the above criteria), and were on their current contract during the 2016 season, must be paid 75% of their contracted salary per year remaining on the contract.
  • Other players must be paid 100% of their contracted salary per year remaining on the contract.

I feel like you are right, actually. Because he was rookie listed, I’ve taken the punt on drafting him for 2 years

I’ll leave him there

No problem. Like I said the rules aren't very clear but my initial gut feeling did tell me he wasn't eligible.

So does that mean the draft is right to start tomorrow fightingfury_88 or is it still delayed by a day?
I'm hoping to get something up tonight so it can begin tomorrow, with no time limits on picks until Jan 4.
