Interested to see who gets a run in the JLT.

I think Connellan, Rice and possibly Goddard will play, Freeman also might get a run. Excited to see the rookies have a run around as well.

Glad both games are in VIC so I can get to both!

Thoughts on the team?

Here we go!

Can’t wait tbh. Hopefully Freezer & Goddard get a run.

Rice-Austin-Webster
White-Goddard-Savage
Freeman-Acres-Sinclair
Weller-McCartin-Billings
Membrey-Marshall-Gresham

I doubt as many unestablished players will get played this year with there only being 2 games - the main players usually play 2 preseason games and the third featured the inexperience/VFL players.

The inexperienced players will probably see a lot of game time during those new showcase "3 a side, 5 minute halves" games ;)

Why are they having that stupid x game ? Nobody wants to see it , I would rather go and see the full Saints side or at least an inexperienced side play . Imagine the melts if Billings or Gresh play and one of them does he knee or a really bad hamstring that haunts the player for the rest of his career . Players won’t be ready to play so full on , how many injuries will there be ?

What shits me is that AFL has gone about this the wrong way. It should have been introduced as something in the middle of the pre-season (so around January) for the clubs to vaguely take part of in regards to it being more a part of their ongoing training. This way you have some footy related stuff to tide people over until the actual preseason games.

Instead they have just hobbled every team's pre-season and risked the players on an exhibition match.

I reckon AFLX is going to be a really good and properly backed "touch footy" sport that will get popular (AFL9s is gaaaaarbage) but this is not the way to go about it.

What's the difference between the two for someone that has paid little attention to this new afl x thing?
