According to Tim Watson on SEN this morning, while the Tigers were all pumped up going off at half time the Crows were infighting.
Love it!
I have a source about the half time perception of the staff in the crows rooms. They thought that not only were the crows players in complete disbelief at the way the game was going , they were beyond the fight/flight they were in freeze mode. they thought the tigers were just too tough.

I’ve watched the tape a few times and the comment was made just as Dan Sausage Rioli walked past the camera ...... it sounded awfully similar to his voice!!

Josh Jenkins was interviewed the week after the GF (you would think he would have been in hiding but good on him for fronting up) and he said at NO stage did they feel comfortable in the game. Even when they were ahead in the first quarter they were shocked and confused at what the Tigers were serving up. Way beyond anything they had experienced before.

Backs up what you are saying Flea.

Good on him for being honest...but what the f**k did they think was going to happen? You have to wonder if they paid any attention at all to our previous two finals games.

Under estimated and we caught them all of guard...
No one gave us all a chance cos we bucked the traditional accepted strategy of playing key forwards...with small...fast endurance runners...
Also it was on the MCG...not on the opps home ground/crows supported by crowd intimidating umpires...
On the MCG where the AFL wants a contest to highlight/showcase the game...it was always going to be a contest!
Exactly...what did the crows and the rest think was going to happen...
The evidence was right there in the lead up winning games before and during the finals...
We were going to smash them!

It was just arrogance Hoos.

Crows just thought they had the strengths to counter whatever we dished up. That game where they played Collingwood at the G where they came from 50 odd points down to draw the game probably worked in our favour. They thought there was a switch that they could flick and they could just turn it on.

It's the only way to explain the lack of any big moves on the day and their persistence with the same structures right throughout the game.

To be honest I am still staggered at how Pike got off so lightly. It was like they had no coach on the day.

The good thing is it seems the footy world and players are underestimating us again this year.

I had to laugh when Bickley (and others) brought up that game during the GF call. I remember thinking...this isn't f**king Collingwood their playing today, you idiot.

It is remarkable that he didn't try anything. Surely by halfway through the 3rd you try something. And if not then, at the last change...but nope. Nothing. No ideas. No Plan B. Not even something that Hickey or Sheedy did (swapping the forwards and defemders) as a last resort.

Yep. Got what they deserved.

Plus a handful of their guys did exactly what they always do when the heat's on in a big game. Nothing. A few flat trackers in that team.

The irony .... the crows are so envious, born out of a steady climb up the ladder, losing their coach in horrendous circumstances, home ground demolitions and a belief the crown would be theirs in 2017.

Envy is a strong emotion, but elite sport is not won through emotion rather talent, process, desire and being able to execute under pressure.

The season launch will motivate them, but can’t help feel this motivation will turn into unhealthy pressure ...... the type we’ve seen so often.

I’m tipping our boys will reference the same model as 2017 because it actually works, while others fumble and stumble trying to find the right formula.

Loved our recruiting strategy after our flag, it tells me we still need to improve and the draft is the blueprint.

We are in an enviable position. Reigning premiers and 4 picks under 30 in the national draft. Happy days.

Yeah the source was in the inner sanctum on the day. They just couldn't believe how tough we were on the day, hence the freezing up of the players.
