Yeah, that's always been the case. I'm just surprised that the curb must not be particularly wide because they were well and truly on the grass with two of the wheels.

Not that it matters given their second runs...
An incredible number must have put two wheels over too based on how far the drop off is on the other side of the kerb. Keep going over and one of the cars might beach itself on the curb.

Why didn’t Renault give Dan softs?
Cost him.
You would assume he asked for the mediums, wasn't much between them in the end a bottled middle sector is what really cost him p3. He really drove the wheels off it to get p5 near a second ahead of his teammate and a real shot at a podium if he can get ahead of max off the line.

Happy for Hulkenburg though, finally see what the Pink merc is capable of with a decent driver behind the wheel.

Yeah Ric was 9 tenths down in that sector I think.

Only 4/10ths slower than Lec.
And we know he is being favoured.
Simply, he isn’t being given the equipment. No Ferrari driver is.
but there's probably no harm in shifting the chairs a bit. vettel looks as conservative as he ever has in a car. even when not performing, his driving just looks less aggressive. no confidence in the car, and probably himself. obviously not going to be there next season so it might be best for everyone if he just ducks out now. it's similar to alonso at mclaren or kimi now at alfa. past world champions and they're embarrassing themselves in machinery not fit for their ability.

Interesting to see how much slower everyone was this week, apart from hulkenburg obviously all while they had access to a faster compound.

Bottas - 0.538
Hamilton - 0.914
Hulkenburg + 0.484
Verstappen - 0.851
Ricciardo - 0.288
Stroll - 0.589
Gasly - 0.033
Leclerc - 1.187
Albon - 0.124
Norris - 0.996

Gasly, Albon & Ricciardo the ones to get more then the rest out of their car changes.

Seb likes his car his way... they all do clearly - and perhaps since the fuel issue last year they arent getting the same power, so he has to drive harder or differntly to gett the same feel - and perhaps it suit Chuck le Cluck better.

Regardless - Seb is a shell

1st time in his career he hasn't been treated like the golden boy who can do no wrong, even when ricciardo beat him there wasn't the team shift against him there has been now.

Seb clearly hasn't embraced this challenge, do have to wonder what would have happened to his career of Mark Webber didn't put it into the wall in south korea and won that 2010 wdc.

Alonso would've won another title IMO.

The Mediums = Softs from last week in terms of tyre pressures, and they weren't a great race tyre last week.
Surely nobody tries a 1 stop tonight ? Max is probably the only one who can starting on the Hards (last weeks Mediums)
No one really did any long stints on the hards last week when they were the mediums did they? Can't remember what Grosjean had on.

2 stop is the only way which could cause mayhem for the midfield getting held up behind slow runners.
