It's a sad state of affairs when out of a possible 550 votes per player, the very best scored 240. Or 2.18 out of 5 from each coach on average each round.

So our best player couldn't crack even a 50% mark for the season. Another damning result is the massive drop off from last year to this. 10 players scored more total points than Guelfi did this year finishing in 3rd.

So I guess it just confirms that the players nowhere met the expectations of the coaches or the supporters. Yes that's captain obvious

What about a good team that has a spread of great players who all steal votes off each other? I don't think an individual award can point to an overall drop off.

If I understand Brutus' post on the last page correctly every player gets a ranking, so there's no vote stealing. Conceivably each player on the ground could earn 25 'votes' in a single game

It does seem like an odd system. Even if you play an absolute stinker you walk off the ground with 5 points, and only a max of 20 off the bloke who was best on.
You could be the worst player on a team with no depth and end up with 100 pts for playing 20 crappy games, most of them as an activate sub

You can get anywhere between 0-5 as shown by my averages count.Reid averaged under 2 votes/game, which would be impossible if you weren't
