Nicely written speech, hits all the right notes. Gives himself away when he mispronounced Nanscawen's surname though

"Finished the year 10th, highest placed of the four expansion teams.

"AFLW is just six years old. When the AFL was six years old it only had 8 teams, the skills weren't much to write home about and the star of that competition was Albert Thurgood It'll be as good as the men's in the decade soon to come.

Voting system is a points system with every player allocated points for each game from each coach.

Coaches can award up to 3 points based on performance for a maximum of 12 points per week.

Coaches voting are senior coach Nat Wood and assistants Brett Gourley, Tash Hardy and Kirby Bentley.

Certainly a tear-jerker, she could hardly get the words out when she was trying to thank her family.

+1 wearing a red dress too. You could see what it meant to her and the whole bit about being impatient to get a club polo and wanting to be part of the fabric of the club she grew up supporting. She goes down in history now - first ever winner of this award.
