From the AFL website:

First four: Carlton (A), GWS Giants (H), St Kilda (A), Western Bulldogs (H)

Last three: Port Adelaide (A), Hawthorn (H), Essendon (A)

Bye: Round 12

Degree of difficulty: 49 (11th)

Tigers get 14 games at the MCG in 2022. What's not mentioned above is that Geelong's home game (only home and away game in 2022) against the Tigers is at the MCG, not Crapdinea Park! I can't wait for the melts over that fixturing.

I've been following the Tigers since 1966 and have never looked forward to a season with so much anticipation as this year. Bring it on!!

What do you think it is in particular about this season, or its lead up that has got you so excited!?

It's the probable last roll of the dice for a bunch of players before our window somewhat closes and we reload and go again, hopefully staying in contention:

Likely last roll:

Trent Cotchin
Jack Reiwoldt
Shane Edwards
Kane Lambert

Possible, but unlikely to be in premiership side after 2022:

Dylan Grimes
Dion Prestia
Robbie Tarrant
Marlion Pickett
Josh Caddy
Mathew Parker
Jake Aarts and

...anyone else over 30 or in the final year of their contract that may not get renewed because their spot will be taken by a nice draft pick in November...

...plus anyone suitable to trade out for their own benefit and the benefit of the club...

...plus anyone else injury prone...

...plus any player, particularly mature age players on the fringe are included...plus the assistant coaches who have until August before they're guaranteed a gig for 2023...

The guys on this list are on borrowed time when it comes this season and they will be DESPERATE to leave no stone unturned. This is it for them.

That's the mentality because that's the reality they will be taking into this season. It's all or nothing. Their chance, most likely will never come again...

We have a favourable draw and a slew of absolutely desperate senior champs of the club, role players and fringe dwellers who realise that it's now, or never...

Add to that a bunch of hungry young men who have hardly played the greatest game there is for the last two seasons and are HUNGRY to prove themselves and squeeze into this awesome team:

HUNGRY YOUNG TIGERS knocking on the door:

Riley Collier-Dawkins
Jack Ross
Will Martyn
Rhyan Mansell
Ben Miller
Biguoa Nguon
Sydney Stack
Noah Cumberland
Josh Gibcus
Tyler Sonsie
Tom Brown

Some of these lads have been in the system a while now but have been cruelled by Covid. But, they've been in the gym, growing, getting stronger, learning the game and the game plan. They're ready to step up this year, given the chance...

If you've written us off...don't.

If you're not excited...get excited.

Now is not the time to put the cue back in the rack. Now is the time to go all in, because this might just be the best one of all...
