Putting the names aside, it's always interesting to look at trends in the underlying structure.

Using the cutoffs below, what is your structure like in terms of premos / midpricers / low cost?

DEF / FWD:

Premo > 450k
Midpricer = 205 - 450k
Expensive Rookie 150 - 205k
Cheap Rookie < 150k

MID / RUC:
Premo > 550k
Midpricer = 210 - 550k
Expensive Rookie 150 - 210k
Cheap Rookie < 150k

The cutoffs are debatable and arbitrary to a degree, maybe someone has a better set.

Output:
DEF: 4 / 1 / 1 / 2
MID: 3 / 1 / 4 / 3
RUC: 2 / 0 / 0 / 1
FWD: 2 / 2 / 2 /2

If we’re classing Hewett as a mid pricer I’m:
3-1-2-2
4-1-3-3
2-0-0-1
2-3-1-2
The 3 midpricer fwd are all in the 200k.

Exactly the same structure:thumbsu:

I respect someone doing something different.
Im surprised that my forwardline is still pretty good given my midfield. That said, my backline is a train-wreck unless i happen to nail my mid-pricers. Hewett is currently D1

This is what I'm going with atm

DEF: 2/ 2 / 2 / 2
MID: 1 / 5 / 2 / 3
RUC: 2 / 0 / 0 / 1
FWD: 3/ 2 / 0 /3

MPM all the way baby!!!

Edit: Post pre-season games, i.e. added Rowell

BAC: 0-4-2-2
MID: 5-2-2-2
RUC: 1-0-1-1
FWD: 2-3-1-2

Ive completely changed tune and am going with a boss midfield. Cripps is my M7
Funny, we are going with many MPs, but we approach it differently.
I've gone light in the midfield and loaded my FWD line

Really interesting structure 👍
In the DEF line, are we talking Hewett / McInerney / H Chapman types? That line really stands out (and the MID line batting deeper than most, as you say).

Chapman and Hewett are currently in there. Hinge and McCartin are my 2 expensive rookies. The other 2 spots are worth about 600k combined

The cut-off is very arbitrary

I have only 5 players over $550K, of which only 3 of those 5 are over $600K.
So, I feel like my premo is over represented :straining:

I feel like I have 5 premos and but, according to your definition - I have 8.
e.g. is Trealor a premo if I put him in the fwd line instead of mid, vice versa?

Currently, pending the arrival of more viable cheap rookies...

3 / 3 / 2 / 0
3 / 2 / 5 / 1
2 / 0 / 1 / 0
1 / 5 / 0 / 2

Frightening columns, but I expect most if not all of my column 2 will end up around or well above the $450K mark (quite a few are already on the cusp) and the 9 'premo's' I do have are the cream.

I'll have some serious column 3 $ on the bench as things stand, but I'd rather plan with the rookies that are going to play and make cash, then work back from there if other riskier options become available late in the piece before first lockout.

Given the quality of mid rookies and dearth of defence rooks this year I think your on the wrong track. Loading up in defence is more logical.

The beauty of SC

So many different approaches

D4 - D8 = rookies 4 me

I still have Daicos and Ward but im happy to go with mid-pricers in the backline. I'll probably end up dropping 1 mid premium and using the funds in my backline but if i don't do that, i hope my backline can cobble together some sort of score.

3-1-4
4-0-7
2-0-1
3-2-3

Anything under JHF is rookie imo, Xerri the other fwd "midprice" only $900 more than JHF, but still midprice.

Agreed. A OBWK said "I was right, from a certain point of view". All depends on how you approach the game.

I have the same approach this year in def. At best will have Chapman at d5 but he will likely be d4.

4-1-1-2
3-2-4-2
2-0-0-1
1-2-1-4

Hewett D5, McCartin D6
Cripps M4, Rowell M5, JHF M6, Daics M7, Ward M8, DStephens M9
Butters F2, Cogs F3, Rachele F4

$94,000 banked
