The markets have Cats at $1.62 for next week, which is too short, and suggest they'll be similar odds for the Grand Final.

With Hawks $2.30 next week, the markets suggest they will also be slight underdogs in the Grand Final.

We are good but the bookies really love us more than seems logical. In the way stand two MCG teams in top form, that were both favoured over Geelong at various stages of the year. I would have it closer to a 3 way tie for equal favourite.

My complete guess is that Hawthorn's 8th placed finish and Collingwood's late season win/loss is being held against them. Neither factor seems that important now that they are in MCG prelims having played strong finals.

Because Pies should be shorter in their Prelim than Cats should be in theirs against Hawthorn.

Then a close toneven money Grand Final, maybe with Cats very marginal faves should they make it.
