Training 2025 Training Updates | Standards are… TBC

Went to the training session yesterday and met the playing group + coach. I’ve come away with even more of a belief that success for this team is just around the corner.

I know plenty of you have been waiting a lot longer than me, but this group is special, they’re good people. Ange Postecoglou who’s arguably Australia’s most successful coach always built his sides based on the character of the individual (and actually got a trophy for Spurs along the way). It mightn’t be immediate success, but there’s plenty of talent in the squad, but they’re even better people. Starting from the top with Clarko to all the players, they made time for the fans and were really friendly.

Special shoutout to Zane Duursma who’s got a great head on his young shoulders.

RHJ got another contract for SFA.

I think what's missed is RHJ lacks confidence, we I believe think he's good enough to make it.

So I suppose our train of thought was lets show him by way of offering him contract. Not the worst thought process we've ever had.

He also needs to improve his concentration, during a game.

Very true. But going in as a young chap we need to teach them how to pack it on and get stronger early on? These kids have no idea on how to do their own washing.

It’s an inducement to our club tbh. But it was great to hear last year we really cracked down on this. A lot of boys were told to find the key to the gym.

Our fitness is much better already this year!

In fact I was.

Yes, but not with main group. Light session. Looked ok.

A. Didn't appear that he was being "managed" in any way.

No. Well I didn't see him.

Nothing to say either way really. Will depend on JD status I assume.

They were split 3 ways. The third group included Teakle, Scott, Stevens, Goad, Urquhart...all that you'd expect not to play.

W Dawson was in Comben's role in "game style". Maley and CCJ in Darling's role.

Goater trained strongly. Was doing extras at the end.

Didn't see Archer at all.
