It's interesting that compared to GC and GWS, this club is clearly being set up for more immediate competitiveness.

GC and GWS both got 8 picks in the first round. Tassie is getting 7, and four of them have to be traded.

Also big sign-on bonuses for established players.

GC and GWS were basically U18 teams with a couple of veterens thrown in. Doesn't look like that will be the case here.

it's clear that the afl is serious about making the devils a very competitive unit from the get-go. i expected more backlash from other afl clubs. perhaps they are consumed with trading.

Tassie has been waiting for this for years, we had over 200k people sign up to foundation membership, albeit at $15.
A massive amount of merchandise has already been sold, so even if we get 1 in 4 member signed up to full members, that's nearly 40-50k.
