Looking forward to the season starting and watching our games on tv instead of attending … seriously if the guys running the club have signed off on this crap they’re a disgrace …
Who knows how much control they really have. Personally I'd prefer a tougher start and an easier middle/finish but this is certainly something.

Is this where we are at now?

Opening Round: Sydney - SCG
Round 1: Richmond - MCG
Round 2:
Round 3:
Round 4: North Melbourne - Marvel
Round 5: Adelaide - Adelaide Oval
Round 6:
Round 7: Fremantle - Optus Stadium
Round 8;
Round 9: Brisbane Lions - Gabba
So 4 true away games and 2 neutral games against MCG and Marvel tenants. Blues men need to move to princes park, seems to work for the Women.

Opening Round: Sydney - SCG - Win (Charlie still cant chase and tackle, Weiters out wrestles him, finishing with a suplex)
Round 1: Richmond - MCG Win (after trailing by 38 points in the second quarter, the scent of burning scarves and membership cards from the stands fires the boys up for an epic 86 point turn around to win by 48pts)
Round 2:
Round 3:
Round 4: North Melbourne - Marvel Win (no explanation)
Round 5: Adelaide - Adelaide Oval Win (finally hoodoo is broken after 3/5ths of the crows list are banned for inappropiraite language, again, in their clash with Collingwood. Their legal defence will argue it was taken out of context, as they were talking about bundles of sticks. AFL accepts and penalty down graded by one match, but not enough for our game)
Round 6:
Round 7: Fremantle - Optus Stadium Win (Flynn Young kicks a goal after the siren from the boundary to win the game, with Jack Newnes barking instructions from over the fence)
Round 8;
Round 9: Brisbane Lions - Gabba Win (tough, hard fought victory. Finally the boys believe in themselves)

There's method to their (albeit money driven) madness..
Two big clubs..

I'd still rather this than play the Kangaroos at the Port Noarlunga Cockledivers home ground on a Sunday evening.
Perhaps the other SA team in Port would have been a better option, a great crowd guaranteed while we’ve recently acquired Davies Boak & Frankie, swap over & share the hatred around… 😎

IMO, the first and last rnds should be derbies in all the states.
That is:
QLD teams play each other
NSW teams play each other
WA teams play each other
SA teams play each other
VIC teams play each other, say:
Carl Coll
Ess Rich
Haw Geel
Melb NM
StK WB
Makes it fair for supporters and team travel.

That makes too much sense for the AFL .....

We’ll have an early season bye as well due to OR.

We get home games at the back end of the season when coach is sacked and we're sitting bottom 3. Brilliant AFL.

That's the thing. We have played at the AO every year and the AFL may have suggested we have a go at Norwood or Barossa. We have compromised by accepting the Crows, albeit Port would have seemed more logical given half our coaching staff are from there.

It appears we don't want to "waste" a game against a Melbourne club in Gather Round. We already have marquee games against the 2 current weakest Melb clubs (round 1 and good Friday), so we can't play them. It can't be coincidence that we have played Adelaide, Freo and WC. AFL probably said you can play GWS or GC, but it will be at Norwood. That would be a disaster for our travelling fans.

We will probably get a return game against the Crows in Melbourne as a further form of compromise, which is not a bad game as one of our "versus top 6".
