From the 2008 Draft:
Tom is a hard working tall forward or defender who attacks the ball fearlessly. He is a smart footballer and his speed and endurance are major assets giving him the ability to also play a medium, flank role.

He spent the majority of the 2007 season recuperating from a knee reconstruction with fellow draft hopeful and school/team mate Tyrone Vickery. Showing potential as a future leader, he co-captained Vic Metro at the under-18 Championships and also captained his school team.

An integral part of Vic Metro’s championship winning team, Tom averaged 13 possessions and five marks throughout the carnival and ranked second overall for Vic Metro in both marks and goals. The highlight of his Championships came in Vic Metro’s big win over Tasmania when he gathered 21 disposals, six marks and four goals.

Tom was one of the leading 190cm plus players tested at the 2008 Draft Camp recording a 14.1 beep test and a solid result in the repeat sprints ranking him in the top 20 per cent of players tested.

Saw him this year for St Kilda. Unlucky not to play more games.
Great pickup, and part of plan B if Tippett goes.

Tom has been the surprise packet for the Crows this year, being a very handy 3rd tall forward target so far in the NAB Cup.

His marking and mobility around goal has been the standout feature in the pre season. He played his best football down back last year for Sandringham, so if he is required to fill a hole in defence then he should be more than capable back there.

Tom has kicked 6 goals in the MMC, and looks very likely to secure a round 1 berth against the Gold Coast at Metricon.

Being secured for Ivan Maric is looking like a very good trade by David Noble and his team.

Any word on when the big fella is going to be back, couldnt be too far off? We need him badly
