The 2nds rule
Does anyone else follow this rule?
The 2nds rule basically means you won't kiss someone if they have already kissed someone else that night, and I had to enforce it on the weekend.
I'd gone on a couple of dates with this girl, but we weren't exclusive or anything like that, although it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that would happen. Anyways, she ended up kissing another bloke at this party we were both at. Originally we were both going to crash at the house, but this 3:14 am incident prompted me to throw a mini-tanty and decide to go home. When I said goodbye to everyone but her she twigged onto the fact that I wasn't happy. She followed me to the car and begged me to stay. After a 45-minute D&M she talked me into it, but I only agreed on one proviso:
I would have to enforce the 2nds rule. She reluctantly agreed, and was more receptive of my query as to whether there was still a spot for me in her bed that night despite the 2nds rule being in place.
Even as she walked me to my car at 11:30 the next morning, I strictly enforced the 2nds rule, because after all, I am a man of principles, and even if I have slept with a chick, I will not kiss her if she has kissed another bloke that night.
The 2nds rule: a necessary evil, or a stupid excuse for petty retribution?
