No doubt. 2 out 4 wins would be a pass I reckon, 3 out of 4 would be champagne corks and 4 out of 4 (on current form and with our injury list) a pipe dream.
Injury list is no excuse against a team missing the likes of Pavlich, Sandilands, Griffin, Bradley and Morabito to injury (imagine how our side would look with our 4 top rucks/forwards out). Then Collingwood are without the likes of Beams, Ball, Maxwell, Toovey. Adelaide are without Taylor Walker. Every team has to deal with injuries, it is why you have a squad of 40+. If we lose matches it is because the squad isn't good enough.

I'm not targeting your post db swannie, I agree we're in poor form, but I never like the injury excuse.

Exactly, not too sure about all the media and the Hawks supporter talk saying they got their revenge. The flag is forever it was only a home and away game.

We had no right to win it last year according to the Media did you see the headlines it was all " Sydney pull off a Heist" " Sydney Steal the Cup" etc etc

Its no secret we dont have the depth of the top sides.

I take your point, but it's not an excuse, I'm simply pointing out that we will struggle due to players who are out due to injury. Other team's injury lists are there own concern.

...The answer is the run must come from somewhere else

No idea why Horse subbed Mattner when Esky was being held back. Thought Marty was one of our better players early. His tackle on Buddy was great. Came across and threw him like a rag doll. So instead Horse kept Rampe in when Buddy ran through him like he was a Brisbane banner (sly ref. to last week). And WTF was Lamb supposed to add to our defence ?

Maybe Horse conceded that the game was over, that Lamb could do with the experience and that Mattner should be rested, either because of an injury niggle or because of his importance to the back line in future weeks.

Agree , I thought Marty was very good, I would have subbed Jetta off

One thing to note is Hawthorn played at the very top of their game on Saturday. I don't think they would have lost to anyone playng like that. We have so much upside that and it was a loss that was predictable according to most, but not life threatening given the opposition and where we are at. And we won the second half..!

nice positive :thumbsu:

It is actually something positive to take from the game.
1) Hawthorn would probably go on to crush most other teams ... didn't they do that to Collingwood?
2) It says again that we never give up, even playing poorly and being ripe for a big kill, we stood firm.

I think Swans fans should show the same balls under pressure that we expect from our players.
I am not in the leat bit concerned about where we are - on the contrary.
We are the premiers. The rest just wish they were the Swans. It's round 7 FFS.
My only worry with Saturday night was that we were bullied by them

Yes they played well but we missed a lot of shots, we missed tackles, we didn't put on enough pressure and our disposal was pretty ordinary. On balance I have to say we lost it just as much as they won it.

Yeah, and we played at night too. We all know Swans play the MCG best during the day

Maybe the media, but not too many hawk supporters have said this
Swans thoroughly deserved to win last year, injuries are taking a toll at the moment
