Edwards finished 6th in the bnf in his 4th season - 69 games in.This thread is going off the rails a bit. Geelong were shattered that we took him. I liked what I saw as a rookie. Hell, Edwards did **** all for about his first 100 games. Rance was useless for about 50 and was the scion of a weagles legend.
Not all players track straight line development and I reckon he's not far off it.
About Ralphsmith, I don't think much of him but Brandon Ellis was a ****en squib too. Worthy premiership player as well, so the truth is you don't need to be as hard as nails to be a good winger.
About Short, ex-premietship players always have currency (e.g. blumfield, marsh, etc), especially at lowly clubs with no success on their list, looking for "how to" advice. A 4th round pick is better than nothing and might even get a 3rd. Just depends if he wants to play on
100%… always an easy way to spot someone that doesn’t know what they’re talking about when they say he took ages to come good.Edwards finished 6th in the bnf in his 4th season - 69 games in.
Its a myth that he was really poor for years at the front end of his career.
I feel like you don't know who Miller Bergman and Corey Warner are
Gibcus, back. . Balta in the backline. Banks playing okay. Grjl. Vlas the other one out. TresIze dropped for vlasBrown is solid, kicking can be a weapon, but needs to develop more hurt than that
looked fast in that chase down tackle that won us the WCE game last year, but doesn't seem to use this pace to break lines off HB?
Plenty of discussion to have around Brown but this is probably the biggest non factorHis physique after 5 years still looks iffy. Not everyone can be blessed with a great rig but his looks sloppy, dough armed

Jezza Cameron looks like a noodle and has been the most dominant key forward and probably has a claim to be the most dangerous player in the comp
Clutching here mate... Jezza has muscle and tone and obviously a much stronger core. I was seriously surprised when Tom was micd up during the pre season, his body shape looked sub par.Plenty of discussion to have around Brown but this is probably the biggest non factor

And he still does
could pull the arms off a gundark

I know who they are and I’m glad we don’t have themI feel like you don't know who Miller Bergman and Corey Warner are
Brown has played 42 games in his career, and it would appear that he is being given a bit of a wake up call to remind him that just because he played 23 games last year he isn't necessarily a walk up start this year especially given the group that we have to select from for the medium sized defenders role. I have him earmarked for the Vlastuin role moving forward and Trainor for Broads role. Given it's R1 of the season there is no need to be concerned that both are currently in the VFL side. Hell they may even spend the majority of the year there if we have a good run with injury and form, which won't hurt them in the slightest as they will be able to still develop their games and gain confidence to play those roles once they do get back into the senior line up.
