Thought i heard in the commentary that this was St.kilda's highest ever possession tally in our whole history?

If correct, it's significant, because we did it against quality opposition (rather than a bottom team)

Yeh it was our highest ever disposal rate.

For mine it's what you have to do against hawthorn, keep chipping until you can find a way through there zone/cluster thingo.

We played a great half of football last night and I thought we were OK in the first quarter.

The tactics were all up the shitter early. The coaches had obviously got into the players heads and said run at Hawthorn's zoning players and handball over the top. They took it too literally and handballed obsessively, and handballed when they should have kicked. Just referred increased pressure to other players and relied top heavily on skill execution.

Then we abandoned the streategy (suppose that was the chat at 1/2 time) and kicked up the wings, but used the corridor if the Hawks left it open. Worked a treat and didn't expose us back the other way. Thought Hawthorn switched play much better all night, but it didn't matter once the tide turned our way.
