I like this type of player move. Has a hard luck story and has made it through the back door (hello sailor).

A similar story to Spud and I hope he kicks on as Spud did.

Yep, safely back in WA where the roads are wider, and the necks are redder.

1. kangaspurs needs a card for that one.
2. Taylor isn't a first round draft pick (who actually did cost us pick 1518), so he has lower expectations
3. Just ergh. Where can I grab a can of "Bmac-begone"?

Matthew Taylor
27/3/1997, 187cm, 81kg
Perth
Defender/Midfielder

With an elite kick and great speed (2.93 seconds for metres at State Combine), Taylor can play in defence and through the midfield.

The 19-year-old played at Perth in the WAFL competition during the 2016 season, boasting an outstanding disposal efficiency of 86 per cent.

Taylor can play tall and small, providing valuable drive from the back half.

From Recruiting Manager Bryce Lewis
"We’ve been following Matthew for a while, he’s a 19-year-old that played 19 games of league footy for Perth Football Club this year.

"He’s a mid/defender who has genuine speed and kicks the ball really well.

"He played nationals for WA last year, but more in a lock down role.

"We’ve been following him for a couple of years and we were happy with the progress made coming from the juniors into senior footy this year.

"He was originally off a farm and moved down to Perth to go to a boarding school and further his footy, but he’s also actually a handy tennis player."

Start him in the deuce court.

He is up there in all the state combine tests

http://www.topendsports.com/sport/afl/testing-draft-results-2016-state.htm

8th in the vertical jump - 66cm
3rd in the running vertical jump - 85cm
6th in the 20m sprint - 2.96s
4th in the repeat sprints (6x30m) - 24.97
10th in Agility - 8.38
4th in the Beep test - 12.10

We should probably find out how many players went to the WA state combine before judging him on these placings. There might have only been 10 for all we know.
