Agree, also initially it would have been just Shannon and the small child searching (AFAWK). We dont know how long she searched for and she would not have wanted to contact Jess and the other grandmother to come back until she was certain she couldnt find Gus. Then it may have taken them some time to travel back to the homestead. Then they would have searched for him, once they couldnt find him either they had decided to contact the Police. It would have taken the Police 45 minutes to get there, if not longer as they would have been off duty? They would have had to contact any other police stationed there, then get dressed in their uniforms, possibly fuel up the police car, gather together then drive out. Under these circumstances, 3-4 hours could have passed quite quickly. Meanwhile, little Gus is still presumably wandering away. Or if some one did take him, he could be half way to Queensland or Victoria!!To be fair look at that property, where do you initially start? Just around the premises I guess so I’d imagine there’d be a few hours just there, now if he’d decided to go for a walk for that whole three hours he’s going to be a reasonable distance out. Then you’d be guessing which direction he went. With only potentially 3 or maybe four people looking it would have been hard to find him in the dark with literally no light pollution and not knowing which direction to look.
Just while I’m thinking about it do we know if this kid was verbal ?
