What does everyone think of those odds for us against the hawks?

The hawks might have a few back this week but they are really still just battling at the moment. They're coming back from Perth (despite a good 9 day break). Bateman doesn't look 100%. We have Green back. We've acclimatised to playing in the beautiful Sunday twilight time slot.

I'm not going to back us because I'm scared that from our current position of honourable losses its more likely we revert to copping beltings than actually start winning games. But its a two horse race and $5.15 seems generous and $6 for 1-39 points!

Garland and Frawley fit and firing to help combat the hawks forward line and I'd be very keen. Buddy and Roughead will probably be the difference.

I'd be getting on the Dees if that was the case. It wouldn't be that big of an upset if we won. An upset, but not a huge one as the bookies are making it out to be imho.

Hell, if we were able to get as close as we DID last year against them the 2nd time at the MCG, no reason we can't win this time, particularly since Hawthorn have arguably gone backwards on the field this year, and we've improved substantially.

Was about 32 points if I recall correctly. Which is more than our average losing margin this year. It's certainly worth a look.

They are great odds. You guys almost beat us last year and against Geelong this year you pushed them for three quarters. I will defently be putting some on Melbourne .

Those odds are a bit better than 4/1.... not bad for a 2 horse race, The Dee's have been pushing sides for a couple of weeks now so i get the feeling they will either win or get belted.

The way we are travelling at the moment, you guys should be $2.70-3.50 somewhere in that range. Might get Ellis/Young back this week but we still have blokes out and alot of blokes in our team (ie Brown/Franklin/Osborne) are still well underdone and out of form.

Windy conditions expected too which might make it a scrappy sort of affair.

Watched every Dees game over the last 4 weeks. Very impressive form. Your main problems is simply too many skill and decision errors and these are resulting directly in goals. You are breaking even in the contested footy.

Davey is All Aust at the moment.

Until we get one of Gilham or Croad back we will be playing with no key defenders, and until that point I think any team in the comp will be a chance against us. Those are similar odds to what Essendon were paying a few weeks back, if Melbourne play like they did against the Dogs they are every chance.

Yeah, add Ellis, Young & Hodge in the back half too, and that takes away a fair bit of class. Problem is, our forward line has been struggling to date. Apart from Robbo, we don't have too many legitimate targets up there. So its not like we can really exploit the lack of talls down back for the Hawks.

I think it will be close, but i reckon the Roughead/Franklin factor might be the telling difference.

Really hope its not windy though, Our skills were pretty good last week, but there could be a repeat of the Adelaide debacle if the weather turns ugly

Hawks are VERY gettable at the moment. I've said this every week for the last month and fortunatley only Essendon have been able to do the job.

All are reliable. You could bet with the TABs as well but they don't tend to give you as good odds as the corporates above.
