Mopsy isn’t talking about a miscommunication leading to Ellis not going for a mark and you know it.

You can’t seriously be comparing Rance to Ellis in terms of attack on the footy, if you’re going to be deliberately facetious then let’s just not bother.

Nothing facetious about it, just saying that all players pull up at times whether it is miscommunication or simply not going for a mark. I have seen Ellis put his head over the ball a lot more than I have seen him pull up short. If Ellis was a soft scared player he wouldn't he lay a run down tackle 15 second before the final siren of the ANZAC eve game, if he was a soft scared player he wouldn't put his body on the line in the QF when Dangerfield come charging towards him.

Can he get better at it, no doubt, but labelling him soft and scared and saying that he always pulls out is just plain wrong.

15.30 minute mark of the second quarter in the VFL game, soft scared Ellis runs back with the flight of the ball and launches himself into a pack to take a contested mark. Reckon that pretty much puts and end to the discussion that he is soft and scared and pulls out.

Should be in the guts working on his inside deficiencies. He basically got a second week holiday.

Pity he had the laid back Bali attitude - just the kind of senior player we needed to pull us over the line in a game like that to be honest!!

Dropping him for two weeks might be the wake up call he needed. There were reasons why he was dropped and probably shirking the contest was the main one. Great to hear he’s rectifying this in the Magoos.
Oh shock horror pulling up short and people get on their high horses for calling it what it is soft.
Im a troll im this im that im not a supporter should be banned etc etc, fair dinkum it makes me laugh so much hypocricy with the usual crowd.

At the end of the day its an opinion it happens to be correct imo and all the bleating in the world wont change that.
Talk about Ellis being soft!!!! he has nothing on the way people melt over an opinion that they simply dont like or the way a person says it.
Its time this crowd stopped trying to be the mods. Stopped telling people they cant think differently stop telling people what they can post and cant post.
At the end of the day ive posted an opinion that i think is correct and ive done it within posting guide lines.

I dont know posters on here and quite frankly dont want to know them. I dont know the players all they do is play in the team i support.
All ive done is give an opinion on what ive seen happen on a regular basis and ive called it what i think it is soft!!!.Consistently pulling up is soft who in his right mind does not think that?

Once again im not sure where it says you have to heap praise on every player or where it says you can not give a differing opinion, or call some thing what you think it is.

But wait all our players are perfect and any one who dares criticise them should be banned. What else is there to do but laugh at such nonsense.

A MAN accused of bashing a disability pensioner during a violent armed robbery has been granted bail after a glowing reference from an AFL premiership player.

Richmond star Brandon Ellis has come to the defence of his close mate, who is accused of taping a grandfather’s mouth shut and holding the man prisoner in his Carlton home.

Ellis’ long-time friend and former schoolmate Omar Benhaddou, 24, was released from custody last month after being charged with armed robbery and false imprisonment over the alleged incident in Carlton.

Alleged victim John McKay told the Herald Sun he was traumatised and frightened he could be targeted for speaking up about his ordeal.

The grandad, who suffers from epilepsy, said he was afraid to leave his house after two separate incidents, including one in which he claims he was threatened with a gun.

Police have charged Mr Benhaddou and two co-accused after the trio allegedly stole a television and two Xboxes belonging to Mr McKay’s grandchildren when they stormed his public housing flat on December 29.

Mr Benhaddou had allegedly warned Mr McKay a month after the initial confrontation not to talk to the police “or something might happen to you”, before punching him.

In granting bail last month, Judge John Champion said Mr Benhaddou’s “good character” and lack of prior convictions had helped his case.

The Supreme Court judge took into account character references for Mr Benhaddou, including from Ellis praising his friend’s “honesty, loyalty, discipline and respect”.

Ellis grew up in Carlton North and went to school with Mr Benhaddou, who works as a hospital theatre technician.

The pair remains close and just eight days before the first alleged incident, Mr Benhaddou changed his Facebook profile picture to a photo of him in a Richmond jumper, with the 2017 premiership cup and a medal around his neck.

Mr McKay said he was shocked to hear Ellis had backed Mr Benhaddou.

Prosecutors argued that Mr Benhaddou should remain behind bars because of the fear of reprisal attacks on the victim.

Judge Champion moved to allay the prosecution’s fears with strict bail conditions.

Mr Benhaddou is on a curfew, must avoid Carlton and not use drugs. A practising Muslim, he will receive weekly counselling from the Somali Australian Council of Victoria and civics lessons from the Islamic Council of Victoria’s chief imam Sheikh Weli.

Mr Benhaddou is due back in court on July 18 for a committal hearing.

Undoubtedly most of us would give a character reference for a mate, no crime there.
But hopefully sanity prevails and the plea falls on deaf ears.
Can't condone shit behaviour like that!
