The Final Siren ends at 10pm and it's followed by Born in the USA, which is an show focused on American sports. It's a great cure for insomnia.

It may surprise you to know that some people actually care.

I remember back in the early 90's when Brian Taylor got his start on radio doing a similar show on 3UZ at 11pm on Friday nights after the racing had finished. It was hillarious listening because every second caller pranked him and he cracked the shits.

HA ha!! That was awesome! :) I think it was on Mondays and Thursdays after the last race. It was so funny, mainly coz BT was a very grumpy man back then -- way more so than now :p

I wonder what happened to Rocky? The 'odd couple' mismatch between Rocky and BT was something that billionaire US sitcom creators dream of. :p Rocky was a pinko, hippy, muso, long haired dole-bludger who could rile up BT in a second!

Funny stuff. I think Kecka was sometimes on.

It mostly comes down to ad revenue (which is why the cycling show got the flick, even though there was a perception that it was popular), so, the Yank show must do ok to have lasted so long.

I reckon those guys a pretty good, but it's just that I have very little interest in American sports, so I never listen. :)

Speaking of which, how crap is baseball?!?! :D That is the crappest sport I've watched in ages, because the balance between bat and ball is weighted so far in favour of the ball that it is totally nonsensical!! Batting is so bloody hard!! It goes: strike, foul, leave, foul, strike, foul, foul, hit, catch out.
It is a JOKE! I can't believe they were worried about aluminium bats and bat corking! Batters need way more than that! The bats are way too small; there are too many fielders; the fielders shouldn't have gloves, and the grounds are too small. :thumbsu:

It might have been on another night but it was definately on Fridays because I remember staying up for it at the end of the week. Sick child.

Lol, heaven forbid the Sports Entertainment Network wants to talk about a sport other than AFL for a couple of hours a day. ;)

Born in the USA is a fantastic show hosted by two guys that are great talents. Why would anyone want to listen to the same shit repeated 24 hours a day? I've never been a big US sport fan but BUSA has been an education and Ed & Steve are pretty clued in about most topics. The more of them the better.

This. As if you bag Steve and Ed. The main problem with SEN, is the continued talk of the same football topic throughout the day. Born In The USA is perfect after the constant football talk.

Born In The USA is a great show, Ed & Steve know their stuff. I havent been listening lately cause its mostly baseball and college football which I hate but whenever they do NBA its really good.

Could not agree more.
Born in the USA is fantastic listening. Especially with the NFL season about to kick off they give a great insight to what's happening over there.
Fair to say Steve may be slightly biased at times (i.e. selecting the 49ers to win their division) but overall they put on a great show.
They even manage to splice in a wide variety of music between segments which is very un-SEN-like. Ed is a modern day Glenn A Baker with his music knowledge.

Should be NBA/NFL. No college talk, no hockey, no baseball. Well, that would suit me anyway.

Just heard that there's only 7 weeks of BUSA left and saw here that it was due to Steve heading back to the States :(
But does that mean that Ed won't be running the show anymore on the Sunday's? Would be gutted if you didn't get that American fix every Sunday night already more so now that Steve's leaving :(
