Wow, i don't know where to start with that list. John Farnem and Tina Arena at 1 and 3, Guy Sebastian at 6 and Nick Cave at 17.

I didn't know that Sia Furler was Australian.

edit: finished the list and think it's the worst list i've ever seen. I can't even imagine the basis for deciding that list and the people involved.

Good to see Chrissy Amphlett get a guernsey in the top 10.

Steve Kilbey, Mark Seymour and James Reyne should all be higher, their unique voices are big part of why The Church, Hunters & Collectors and Australian Crawl are such great bands.

Disgrace there's no Martin Plaza or Greedy Smith in the top 100.

Jimmy Barnes hasn't sung in years - just tours with that scream of his. Which is a pity, because when he used to actually sing - he had a hell of a voice.

Yeah his voice isn't what it used to be but he had a great voice going back 20-30 years ago, he could belt out a tune that's for sure and Cold Chisel wouldn't have been the same without him. Worthy of the top 10 imo.

Seems like they're rating some of them as musicians rather than singers. Gotye, for example, really doesn't have that great a voice. Also Guy Sebastian at 6 is a joke, terrible singer and musician. Ian Kenny is way to low at #94. IMO one of the best male voices in the country at the moment.

Wow, Paul Kelly not in the top 10, Sarah Blasko not in the top 20 and the acknowledgement of the Bee Gees as a group but separating Barnsey and Ian Moss.

the only thing i liked about that list was the recongnition of chrissy amphlett who has a fantastic voice even though i'm only familiar with a handful of divinyls tunes

Seriously... No Grace Knight in the top 100?

Frank Ifield should also make any top 100 Aussie singers list. Bloody good voice he had.

Lumping Barry and Robin Gibb together on these lists is such a bunch of horse shit.

Completely different voices, and whenever the band is listed as one it makes you think that no one's ever listened to their music.

It'd be like saying Brian and Carl Wilson counted as one voice.

Great trivia. What was the actual story behind that?

I grew up with the oldies playing him on the old turntable. Great voice.

I think it was down to a guy called Arthur Howes and Epstein calling him to get a support gig.

Frank was the first British based artist to have three #1 million selling records. The only other person at that time to have done that was Elvis Presley.

And they put out these which are worth a pretty penny these days.

Quite often they would sing the lead together and it would be hard to figure out of if it was Robin or Barry especially on the early falsetto stuff as well as the normal voices.
It's a pity the AFL never invited them to do a Grand Final.

Was this written by a 12 year old?

The youngest singer in the Top 10, Guy Sebastian has made a major impression since winning the inaugural Australian Idol ten years ago. Sebastian has relied on his talent to silence an endless string of haters and his vocal and songwriting skills have now seen credibility added to his truckload of record sales.

Who cares about good singers? As the Silver Jews sang, "all my favourite singers couldn't sing."
