I have the week off and 5 trades left.

I finished 10th overall (and #1 Roos supporter) this week which is my best result ever so I am loathe to tinker with my team especially when I'm not playing. Therefore 2 questions;

1. At this stage of the game would I be best off trading off my highest value bench player and bumping up my cash for the last 2 rounds?

2. Even though I have the weeks break am I correct in assuming my team still 'plays' for the overall competition?

Thanks in advance

2. yes it still coutns towards overall ranking.

I don't know what your team is like but with 5 trades you should be able to upgrade someone.

Lots of cheap players currently so if you have a bit of money in the bank you can upgrade 2 players.

Which players are your weak links?

Well without being smart, I scored 2353 last week and my worst player was C.Cornes and he really is untouchable in this comp

That said, I played one short with Azza Edwards not playing and that is the glaring hole in my team.

My emergencies are:

WATERS, Beau (WCE) $258,900
HANSEN, Lachlan (KAN) $110,300

THOMAS, Lindsay (KAN) $150,900
FOSTER, Andrew (FRE) $69,600

RYDER, Patrick (ESS) $140,200
GRIFFIN, Jonathon (ADE) $131,200

HAWKINS, Tom (GEE) $150,100
JETTA, Leroy (ESS) $99,800

and I have 9,600 cash

I was thinking just swapping Waters for a rookie this week which will bump up my cash reserves to about 200K for the last two finals with maximum trades left?

I think you've gotta do something about that forwardline.

Yep, agree 100%

With five trades, I suppose I'd look at downgrading two of those three forwards. Hawkins and Jetta aren't playing, so it might be worth turning one of them into a $69600 player for the extra cash.

If you can make two downgrades this week, you can work on cash and playing emergencies, and then upgrade Edwards for the prelim final. If necessary you could find another downgrade target next week aswell.

So back to your original post, go for cash this week, and then bring in the best option before your next game.

No point trading for marquee players this week what if they gain an injury. Trade down get some money, upgrade two in your prelim and one in the grannie.

favourites yo fool. the guy is 10th overall. trade big now mate, only 3 rounds left, go for the 25k!!

You are both very wise - this is sound advice.

Cheers for your help

ahh my apoligise favourites

No worries mate, i just read it about him having the week off, so i was thinking he meant he wanted to win his league, which for those outside of top 100 are aiming for..

So thats why if his not worried about overall standings he should go for the downgrade of a couple of his youngstars eg Thomas and Hawkins and use the 162 Grand to upgrade his problems. If you need more money then get rid of Waters and Hawkins, should leave you with about 270 Grand to upgrade.

When you downgrade go for a 69,000 player, at this stage with 3 trades over last 2 weeks (prelim and Grannie) you will be able to trade to cover injuries.
