No obviously not but Hawthorn have shown everyone that if you want a particular player to fill a hole in your best 22 then you need to offer the other Club a better deal that they were expecting . You also need to be talking to that players manager at least 2 years before you put an offer on the table rather than when a press statement is made that the player wants to leave . By that time the player and the Club he wants to go to have already done the deal and the rest is history . We have gone after a number of players over the years and have landed very few and 2 were absolute lemons .We turned one into a backman ,Tarrent . The others Croad and Anthony , one left the other was plain useless .
I understand what you are saying but as has been said already heaps of times, no matter what you offer, why would you leave your state ( we all do or maybe should love our home ) unless there problems ( the lemons ). We either pay overs for shit, hope for WA boys coming home ( they seem to like the egirls :cry: ) or back our club to do the best it can with what we have.
