I would like to know what Aaron Hall's background is? Is he aboriginal? Pacific Islander? Does anyone know? I know he is from Tassie but that information doesn't really help.

I read through and there is nothing on his background?

HIS birth certificate says Tasmania but there is undoubtedly some Fijian flair in the way Gold Coast Suns find Aaron Hall goes about his work.

Hall, whose mother Naz is from Fiji, provided just a little spark on an otherwise dark, wet and windy evening last night at the Gold Coast's round of NAB mini-matches.

The pre-match hype was built around the return of former Lion Mitch Clark, now in Melbourne's blue and red, Brisbane captain Jonathan Brown's comeback from injury and the Suns underage recruit Jaeger O'Meara.

But Hall, delivered in the pre-season draft, inched close to an AFL debut with a busy night in front of coach Guy McKenna.

He booted two goals in his side's 26-23 win against the Demons and was dangerous again in the Suns' 18-16 loss to Brisbane.

Hall's pace and clean hands were obvious, and the way he worked off skipper Gary Ablett suggests he reads the game well.

Ahh ok thanks. So it looks like you guys might have another Naitanui on your hands!

I thought Azza was found out a wee bit with the pace of the game but he did enough to suggest he will be okay at this level

That's to be expected on debut. Most people look out of depth on their debut. I remember Jobe Watson's, it was an absolute shocker. Aaron actually did pretty well though, he rated among the best five or so players for Gold Coast.

I thought Hall was very good on debut and showed he is up to AFL level.

Obviously it is a big step-up from TSL(Tasmanian State League), but all his KPI's were fantastic for his first game.

Hopefully the Suns can get around 12-16 games out of him in 2012.
