will he get a run this year do you guys think.

I played quite a bit of junior footy against him (Easily the best player in our competition) and along with Paul Bevan (Swans rookie) where the only two players from my age group and my competition to make it into the AFL, so I would like to see Rogers do well.

Hows he been going in reserves?? Does he like it in Melbourne?? Will Melbourne keep him another year if he hasn't made any impact or will they cut him at years end??

Don't get me started about Aaron Rogers.

For his size I reckon the word 'soft' is an appropriate description.

He needs to smarten up that area of his game before he will be an AFL footballer.

thats a bit of suprise because he's a westie, were they are bred quite tough, and he always was a pretty tough nut in the juniors, but there is a difference between a second rate Sydney junior comp and the AFL ;)

Are you guys likely to persist with him or dump him at the end of the minimum contract period??

I really hope he isn't dumped because he'll be 20 and most likely enter football oblivion which isn't good enough for a talent such as his.

He could be as good as forward as any in the future if he plays at his best.

Also capable of playing down back.

i've been watching him since we drafted him and has been a little disappointing, i Really hope that we dont delist him at the end of the year, as i have seen huge potential in him. but footyman is right, he needs to smarten up in a few areas.

Dreaming...

He is a fairy on the field and I have been disappointed with his progress. He does not lead straight up the middle from the goalsquare, instead choosing to go out wide to avoid body contact.

He is only 19 years old, but is quite well built for his age, so he must learn to use it.

I reckon youre being a littler harsh on Rogers. I havent seen a lot of him but what I've seen has been ok. His wide leading in the Wizard Cup could just be his way of getting the feel of footy at a higher level.

If we're singling out anybody for being soft we should be looking at players like White, Green, Heffernan and McDonald.

J-Mac aint soft!

The other might be a tad...

He'll go in and under but he gets pushed off the ball too easily. He needs to start imposing himself physically. His opponents just shove him around at throw-ins and ball-ups like they own him and he just sits back and lets them do it.

I'd say you've seen more of him than the rest of us combined, so your opinion carries some weight. However I don't belive there are any "Faries" playing AFL. He's made it onto our list so he must have something going for him. He needs a huge lift & it's up to him to deliver.

heffernan aint soft either, he is one of our best tacklers, and the statistics back it up he is listed at 7th in the afl with whelan and godfrey ahead of him
