Lol, if I had a dollar for everytime some n00b posts a thread here along the lines of "oh noes, i don't have *insert player here* and he scored really well. I don't really understand SC scoring therefore the game must be rigged."

There are puzzling scores everyweek, this is no different. I am also getting him next week so also wanted as low as possible but the point most people are disputing here is the whole "cheating" argument. Don't let sour grapes push you over the edge into the cheating crowd :) and yes he whinges like a little bitch, him and steve johnson are two of the most annoying players for me to watch! So dont worry im not a fan of him
 
Easy for people to say it's rigged when i think everyone doesn't understand how the scoring works 100%. You can only look at it from an overall perspective as i think it's just far to difficult to get an accurate feel when too many things are taken into consideration.

I mean, against the WB, didn't Nick Dal Santo pull out a 70-80 point last qtr (with only 7 or 8 disposals) when he had done nothing all day. But when you look at the overall jist of the game, the Saints kicked the only 3 goals in the last to pinch it, so in hindsight, NDS may of had a huge impact on the outcome which reflects in the SC score.

It's just way to hard to analyse. All i can say is really, when a player stands up when the game is there to be won, if they're clean, they are going to get rewarded if the team gets over the line. A crucial goal, centre clearances whatever.

IIRC, the game was there to be won in the 3rd and looking at Ablett's stats for the qtr, it's a very good effort considering scores were level at HT and then Cats 3 goals clear at the last change.

Did you check out how many clangers Bartel had (game high 7)- which reduced his score. Actually the next highest clanger score was 4.

In my humble opinion you can't measure the scores allocated by looking at stats only. This is the great part of SC. The scores reflect the impact of each player on the result of the game - so I'm happy that a formula has been created and is used to determine this. If it's wrong it's wrong for everyone (all players).
If you want a more "viewable" scoring game play DT. I"m not saying DT is not as good as SC - both I think have their strengths and weaknesses. I just prefer SC as a fantasy football game - as the best players are rewarded (closer correlation to the real game).

So you always agree with every single score they give?

There are very questionable scores given in every game. It's not easy to judge a player's impact and we never learn what points they got for what so it's hard to analyze it properly, but there are a lot of interesting scores every game.

Morons that continually call him a sook really PISS ME OFF! The fact it comes from a St Kilda supporter is really rich!

What exactly has he done to warrant this!? People claim he was SOOOOO SHATTERED he didn't win a couple of brownlows. Why is that? You try going into an event like that being the odds on favourite, with the cameras & every eye in the building on you, and try not to look nervous or uncomfortable!! It had nothing to do with Gary being angry or sooky that he lost.

The only time he has genuinely been "sooky" and had a cry is after we lost in 08. And after the effort he put in that day, he earnt the right to cry. He was shattered just like any of you IDIOTS calling him a sook would be if you had anywhere near the talent he does.

So shut the **** up and stop being jealous that he's better than your teams best player! Oh and to you St Kilda people, must be awesome to have a captain that's never cried on the field before....... Oh that's right. Hahaha

It's a great time to be a cat supporter,however you get the feeling the little sook would be in the absolute duldrums this morning. He is no longer the highest priced supercoach player,something he puts before the success of the team. The little self absorbed one is stressing it up, that oversize gigantisaurus pimple on his massive head is about to self combust!!!

Hmmm...352 players this week for a total of 1408 individuals quarters of footy. Does this mean CD got it right 1407 times?????

For those who want to complain about scoring go to a real thread on this with detailed mathematical arguements, high levels of abuse and every arguement under the sun as to why it is rigged before being killed by mods.

I was going to start a thread called Ablett's third eye.

what is that thing growing on his face? A whitlow? a carbunkle? a boil? the mother of all pimples? A new technique to get rid of taggers?
 
I personally dont think CD are rigging scores but the thing I dont like is the game in the balance scoring which skews the points so much.

Taking a mark, a tackle and kicking a goal that gives your team the lead and scoring that player 40-70 points is not from my point of view great for SC as a game.

That player only gets to get those crazy points because other players built the score up so close in the first place. But if you scored a goal 4 goals before that but it doesnt give your team the lead, do you get these crazy points? It just seems slightly weak.

Player one takes mark late in the third qtr, kicks the 12th goal of the match and scores around 20 points.
Player two takes mark late in the 4th qtr, kicks 15th and winning goal scores around 40+ points.

For my vote this is weak from a game sense. Good for AFL coaches to know for that one moment late in the game.

Also, if in second qtr you score the goal that gives your side the lead..does this mean you score more?/double Silly then for the player scoring the previous goal to then give the next player the chance for higher scores. This scenario doesnt really highlight at all who is a better player during the first/2nd/3rd qtrs...just luck.

Apologies if i have this totally wrong...just seems the be the case without providing hard evidence.

You do realise, don't you, that the Champion Data stats are primarily there for the benefit of the clubs to track the performance of players?
The fact they are also used for supercoach is just coincidental, because the herald sun pays to use the data.

Honestly, some people take supercoach waaaay too seriously. It's just a game to enhance your overall footy experience. If you've stopped enjoying playing it, it's probably time to stop.
