Did anyone else, and I'm tipping they did, see what happened on the footy show tonight? Ok well personally I thought that Sam Newman had a lot more credibility than that. Ok, sure joke about the poor effort we may have put in on Monday, all supporters and I'm sure the players are aware it wasn't our best effort, but to continue to carry on about it for the whole show was a disgrace. And to make matters worse, he was having a go at poor Schwarta, who was visably distraught on Monday with despair, and I can vouch for that, as I was sitting a couple of rows behind the bench.

The pie incident did help it along, and good on the Ox for giving it back to Newman I say. Credit must go to Gale and Spider for having a go at Sam about it too.

I just think Sam should have approached it a different way, considering the fact that it was Schwarta's 150, and after such a disappointing day for both the Ox and the club, it was likr rubbing salt into the wounds.

Demon,
i agree 100%. alot of people say that it was staged, but i have a strong feeling that it wasnt. only because Schwarta wouldnt let a thing like occur. But why should he take all the blame for what happened on monday??? i mean was it his fault we played like sh!t ??? NO! it was a team effort (thats the scary thing) i really hope that the Sam learns his lesson from this one. And David had every right to retaliate. Why would someone like that, just sit back and let it happen. Not the Ox, no way. he had every reason to retaliate, and good on him. he should have belted the living suitcase out of the arseh*le. i am getting to the end of my tether with sam newman, and it wouldnt surprise me if we dont see Schwarta on the footy show again this year, only because he wouldnt want to be on the show with such a w***er like sam. And it was good to see Spider and Benny on side with Schwarta, and i am sure that we will see hear more about it in the days to come.

yeah, nicki i saw that...
i dunno what the f*ck sam was thinking, but to do something like that to one of the legends of the game!!! i mean there's gotta be something wrong with him!!!

me and or (DEES RULE!) wrote a letter to sam, and from what i know so did nicki - lol, nicki its great!
and to be honest with you, i think every melbourne supporter in victoria (as well as nicki) will be writing him a letter telling him how much of a f*ucking ass f*ucker he is!

dunno how to rap this one up... but i will say that sammy 'pie guy' newman go continue kissing eddies ass, but its not gonna get him anywhere this time!

GO DEES!!!

I AGREE!

if i was there i would jump on stage and help schwarta belt the living crap out of Sam... help the plastic sergons a bit!

Schwarta is a ledgend and no one treats a ledgend like that!

also the appology from Channel 9 is so bloody lame... sounds like Eddie wrote it while someone was holding a gun to his head!

The Footy Show should really come up with better material.... and i say DROP SAM TO THE SECOND! :D

GO DEES! :)

I was stunned when I saw that. I expected to Sam would give David a go over about our pathetic performance on Monday but he took it too far. I just wish the Ox had pushed him harder. This time Newman has gone too far. Welldone to Benny Gale as well for sticking up for the Ox and the club!

It was just another stunt by Sam to get attention - he is a ****head of the highest order.

Schwarz is a player who has played 150 games despite three knee reconstructions, and 3 or 4 years ago it looked as if he might not get to play again.

Melbourne's performance on Monday had little to do with Schwarz as he went off the ground early with an injury. When Schwarz does play, he tried his guts out and has been one of the Dees best players this year. Sam's targetting of Schwarz was not warranted at all. Anyone telling Schwarz to lighten up should ask themselves how they would feel if it was somebody from their team who copped that treatment.

Unfortunately Schwarz is in a no-win situation. If he ignored the stunt, and didn't react to Newman, he would be labelled soft, but he reacted and showed that he can get angry very quickly (quite justifiably in this case), something which will make him a target for sledging and niggling tactics from the opposition. Opposition players will try to con SChwarz into giving away silly free kicks.
