One of my favourite card games. It has looked after me over the years, but burned me big time one night, those who know the game would know the scenario. Had all the boys over at my house, no food, plenty of grog, game going well, pot growing and growing, then i get that dream hand...Low Ace followed by another Ace, three hundred in the pot.." Pot" calls windyhill, yep, out comes another Ace and with our rules if the card matches you put in double !!!! 6 hundj, just like that.
Haaaaa, it took 10-15 minutes for the shouting to die down as the place erupted, 6 bloody hundred !!!! Up to the bank i went to pull out another 3 hundj (as i could cover the rest) Chipped away at the pot got a little bit back, but was soundly defeated that night.
I have done well at this game though over the years, have seen some ridiculous pots just grow and grow, talking a few thousand here, pots that no-one could cover, have seen some blokes lose pay packets, seen car keys tossed into pots, birthday gift vouchers, movie tickets, etc etc.
Normally go ok at card nights, but that night I got the three Aces....still talked about, bloody funny.
