All of them!!

If you're badly affected you coiuld have dozens or even hundreds of components, and all of them are evil

the only ones you may want to keep are those ones that are dummies or otherwise safe. Which are these? Well if you have done sometthing like gone to the double-click site, they tell you how to de-activate their cookies, these should be avoided. But really will be aware of these, so you really should delete everything.

cheers

Even registry keys and files in the System folder in the Windows directory?

If you're not sure about it, don't delete it. Last week my friends oldman deleted some files he thought were just shortcuts, and lost 4months worth of MYOB data. He's had to take the whole week off work just to input the data again. So if you don't know what those files are, leave them.

The registry keys and files in the system are exactly the ones to delete.

The program works by comparing the whats on your computer against a list of files that are known to be spyware etc. Unless you are silly enough that you save important documents by calling them cydoor.dll and placing them in the system folder, then you really shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Fair point of D4E, you should never delete things simply because you don't think they are necessary, but the only programs that a scan is gonna harm are programs that are tied in with spyware, such as kazaa. But then you should be using the 'lite' version.

If you're still really nervous, do another scan, when it's found the files it gives you the option of looking at the log. Copy the the section of th log that shows the suspect elements and post it here.

Thanks.

If I uninstall my current version of Kazza and replace it with the lite version, will I lose all my songs I had downloaded through the original Kazza? I do save them on Windows Media Player as I go.

I've used Ad-aware for a while now and always delete everything it finds. The only time it deleted something that was needed was a bit of Grokster. Easily fixed by downloading it again.

Haven't upgraded like that, but as long you've copied your mp3s out of the kazaa share directory, then you'll be safe. They'll almost certainly be safe anyway. :)
