Where's he at? Great game last week and we all thought he was back. An interesting role this week playing in defence, I suspect because we were worried about Lloyd and Lucas. And yet his direct opponent Mark Bolton kicked 2 goals on him. And then there's the incident with James Hird. Looked pretty innocuous but god damn he's so childish at times!!!

It doesn't help that the Umps are so in love with Hird. I'm surprised they didn't walk up to Hird and asked him if he was ok.

Judd gets the same treatment too.

The "Hird incident" just looked like a shove to me - the kind of thing that probably happens a hundred times during any game. It's just that the shovee doesn't normally drop to the ground like a sack of potatos.

It seems the diving classes they've been getting from the Italian soccer team is paying off.

Lloyd's obviously passed with distinction.. lol..

Goodsey did seem to lose the plot there for a while.Another unprovoced whack in the back may be scrutinised.I hope not as he can be a wonderful player. He doesn't seem his placid old self this season. There must be something going on with him as what he is doing is so out of character.

Of course, it was the diving and the umpires, not precious Goodes

I'm puzzled as to what's happened to Goodes this year. He's gone from being a good fair player to being almost a thug. Whacking and pushing blokes over from behind. If he keeps it up Roosy would almost have to drop him you'd think, you can't have players doing that.

He is an angry man atm. Too angry. Can't play good football being frustrated to the core like he is.

Really needs to find his mojo.

Actually thought his last few games have been very promising. We really need to get LRT back in the side, though. These defensive roles for Goodes are clearly starting to drive him to distraction.

Goodsey needs to lay off the angry pills. Very frustrating to watch this year.

-The sparks of brilliance are here and there though... you can see it slightly.

I want him to take his frustration out at the attck on the ball, weve got other guys for the niggly bits, When Goodes is ball focused and tuns he is brilliant, but this season its not been happening and if that angry stuff keeps up he will continuie to lose his focus.

pretty much everyone posting replies so far are spot on i recon.... he's lost the plot, needs to lay off the angry pills, childish, it was a shove only, he is an angry man....

seriously, didn't he learn from last time he did somthing similar? ok it wasn't anything major this time, but he should be more disciplined, for somone who's reached the heights he has & the leadership & influence he has on the team, he should try to show more composure on the ground.

he should take a leaf out of Hall's book & contain his frustrations. maybe he can start by biting his knuckles? hehehe

lets hops his game only gets better from here on in...

One of bolton's goals came from a free kick against Goodes that was an absolute shocker. Goodes marked it fair and square. Nudged bolton out of the way with his shoulder - not a hint of hands. I still dont know what the free kick was for.

Fast forward done the other end, Goodes is backing up, eyes on the footy looking likely to mark about 20m out in the pocket. Bolton is running straight at Goodes, no idea where the footy is, sticks his hand in Goodes FACE!!!! no call.

and you guys are wondering why he is angry?

I dont get it. Great players like Hird and Judd get special protection from taggers. Geesh came out and admitted it openly. Why doesn't Goodes qualify? Godfrey and Bolton have both gotten away with scragging the reigning brownlow medallist this year.

It would be funny if it wasn't true.

As an experiment I watched this round seeing how players get frees from a tackle. And the Itlaian style "noodle legs" routine where you wait for the contact and then go limp at the knees seems to be the best way to get a quality tackle turned into a push in the back and a cheap free these days. It's all the rage and there isn't a single team that doesn't do it. Why? Because the rules pretty much are forcing them to exploit it. :thumbsd:
