Firstly top win by the tigers over North. Clearly it is a matter of confidence, and if we can maintain it there should be more wins to come. The hallmark of the game would undoubtedly be our consistency across the board, a real team effort - I'm very pleased.
Now onto the burning question that I'm having trouble answering: Where do we play Adam Pattison?
He picked up a paltry 8 touches last night. He's played pretty much a back up ruck man for 2 years before Graham. But I'm concerned. We have Putt and Vickery in the wings as future potential rucks in the post-simmonds era. Grahma is coming along well, and all those knocker pre-season can eat humble pie because this kids got a real future. Almost seemingly he has overtaken Pattison as a ruckman.
The problem with Pattison is he was never meant to be a ruckman. And if he was he lacks the hight and mobility to make a top line AFL ruck. However playing him in the ruck in my view has probably stifled hius development as a forward. This is his only logical position to take other than the ruck, but I just can't see him holding down the center half forward post.
I don;t want this guy to go to waste because we have given him much time in the side and has shown glipses, but I'm starting to wonder if he has a place at the club in any sort of capacity.
Thoughts?
