Firstly top win by the tigers over North. Clearly it is a matter of confidence, and if we can maintain it there should be more wins to come. The hallmark of the game would undoubtedly be our consistency across the board, a real team effort - I'm very pleased.

Now onto the burning question that I'm having trouble answering: Where do we play Adam Pattison?

He picked up a paltry 8 touches last night. He's played pretty much a back up ruck man for 2 years before Graham. But I'm concerned. We have Putt and Vickery in the wings as future potential rucks in the post-simmonds era. Grahma is coming along well, and all those knocker pre-season can eat humble pie because this kids got a real future. Almost seemingly he has overtaken Pattison as a ruckman.

The problem with Pattison is he was never meant to be a ruckman. And if he was he lacks the hight and mobility to make a top line AFL ruck. However playing him in the ruck in my view has probably stifled hius development as a forward. This is his only logical position to take other than the ruck, but I just can't see him holding down the center half forward post.

I don;t want this guy to go to waste because we have given him much time in the side and has shown glipses, but I'm starting to wonder if he has a place at the club in any sort of capacity.

Thoughts?

Putt is pretty bad in the ruck. Vickery isn't ready. Pattison wasn't drafted as a ruckman, so it's no surprise that Graham's overtaken him in that department.

He was good at CHF because he worked his ass off to create a contest, which freed up Morton and Riewoldt to do the damage.

Pattison reminds me a little of Brendon Gale..... Brendon Gale played 100 games before he actually earnt a spot in the side ... Not his fault, thats how shit we were back then.
Gale was an in between player... not quite a ruckman and not quite CHF... but he had the competitiveness desire to improve .... and thats what I see in Pattison.
I think he is a good Tall, forget where he best suited. He is mobile and he plays hard, just let him develop.

How bad can an athletic 203cm player be in the ruck?

What a stupid comment. Just cos' he's tall and can jump doesn't make him a ruckman.
"How bad can an athletic 188cm player be down back?" Well most people don't like Jordy much...
"How bad can an athletic 194cm forward play?" Just watch Schulz...

Etc etc etc.

He's a forward, not a ruckman.
