I've been a keen watcher of Thomson's career since he seemed to get drafted so high almost unnoticed over here in vic. Thought he had a really good year for a 2nd year player in 06. Was a bit shocked to see he was left out of the team for round 1. Where do you see him at from a supporter view point? Do you think you can actually bank on him being the linchpij of your inside midfield? And also, what caused him to be left out this week?

I don't think anyone really knows why he was left out outside of the club, and i suppose he isn't high profile enough for reporters to ask. Perhaps it was just a team balance thing. I'd say that the majority of port supporters would say he'll definitely be a part of our future midfield.
