Whats with the crowds for Adelaide games. Your capacity is about 50,000 yet the biggest crowd you have had this year is 43,915 against Collingwood. I assume that was a sell-out?

Is it because your members with seats dont turn up?

Are you expecting 43-44 for Sundays game?

Looking forward to my first game at AAMI.

Part of the reason is SANFL members are counted towards both clubs totals, that's about 4 thousand port supporters that have a tickets to every Crows game.
So then there's about 3-6 thousand no show Crows supporters. 10% is about the average no show rate to most games of AFL so it kinda works out that way.

What he said.

For comparison, Skilled Stadium capacity is listed on the Geelong FC website as 28000, crowds this year are 21462 (v Kangas) 22014 (WCE) 20435 (Fremantle). Geelong's membership was 32000+ last year (don't know 2007 figures) suggesting the no-shows at AAMI stadium are about par for the course.

West Coast seem to have crowds just over 40000 typically in a 43000 seat venue with 44000 members.

Is it because your members with seats dont turn up? Both members of AAMI and season ticket holders (as prev mentioned)

Are you expecting 43-44 for Sundays game? Yes that'll be about right

Looking forward to my first game at AAMI. Hope you have fun, just remember you can get kicked out for swearing. So dont abuse your guys when they are being slaughtered:)

I reckon there were more than 43,915 at the collingwood game. Some people have mentioned problems with the ticket machines earlier this season.

that was the first game against essendon from memory

they have been sorted as far as i know..

yeah, just something about that nights crowd that made it seem more 46-47,000 rather than 44. Usually you can tell within the 1-2,000 but it just looked so much more than scraping the 44 vs collingwood.

I still say they under-declare the crowd totals. You go to any Crows home game and the stadium looks pretty full, they declare it to be a low-40 thousand crowd, yet the Fremantle qualifying final crowd had massive gaps all over the place and they say there were 42000 people.
Yea - but for Port games it looks like < 20 and it gets around 26, so I just never know.

The Roos game (Kangas + Roos 300th) last year was absolutely packed - how that did'nt get 50K is beyond me.

At least we honuor are Champion Players and rock up to very important games unlike the other Club in this state!

don't know if you remember that game vs collingwood in 1993 (where we had 48522 or something like that)

i've heard from someone fairly close to the sanfl that the real figure was closer to 53 or 54000!

it wouldn't surprise me if they made the figures look a bit lower (something to do with PL insurance)

It would be insurance, safety etc.. sometimes at United games they say there is 15k when its probably more like 17 or something.. but if they release the real figure it looks too high and questions are asked.

This is correct.

The other thing you forget is that not all membership is ticketed - the 50,000th membership was a crows Nest - non-ticketed .
