I want to run a set of polls, one for each club, on the person (player, coach, administrator, all of the above) who has had the greatest influence on the club in its history. I'll start with A for Adelaide, and depending on how many responses I get I will continue. PS: open to all, not just fans of the club.

I voted other for Darren Jarman.

His performances in Adelaides 2 most important matches (GF 97 & 98) were absolutely legendary.

All such brilliant players. I think Nigel Smart, Shaun Rehn and Ben Hart should be added to the list too. Roo or McLeod for sure.

Two Norm Smith medals is, to date, the greatest thing that any player in the modern era has achieved.

That it was done by Adelaide's games record holder, and a player universally regarded as a champion for virtually his whole career makes it clear to me that he is Adelaide's best.

D. Jarman is the best footballer they have had on the park.

McLeod over the course of a career.

Modra the most exciting.

Blight has been the biggest influence on the club.

Best "figure" has to be a toss up between Blight who delivered them two unlikely premierships and Ricciuto who is still running the town. I went Blight who was named "The Messiah" for good reason.

I went Macca narrowly from Roo.

Macca was simply a brilliant player, a matchwinner and most importantly - he performed when it counted - in finals and big games.

A humble person, and the kids loved him. My grandson is only 4yo and only saw him play briefly yet still calls him his favourite player.
He also had to play with his knee problems (bone on bone) and to go for as long as he did is a credit to him.
