What do people really think of them? They drew on these ballads that were all very similar to pull of their MTV era late 80's comeback which was successful but how do the ballads hold up? Personally they dont hold a candle to their 70's rock but there are a few that were good. Steves voice has done great to hold up as well as it did throughout his rock and roll lifestyle. I liked where Honking On The Bobo went, don't like them trying to sound commercial and modern. Fave album is the one with Last Child on it

Yes i agree to some extent but they also have great rock song over the years.
eg. Mama Kin , Dream On , Young Lust etc.

Dream On is the ultimate rock ballad. You should hear it live man. Steves big scream in that song works just as good as any stage pyrotechnics

Yeah, "Dream On" is the go...

I think their later ballady outings aren't bad songs, but there's a fair bit of sameness about all of it and you can't tell one bigbudgetboymeetsgirlinthesubplotofadisastermoviesoundtracktearjerker ballad from the next.

Last album I bought was "Get A Grip", which was good, although the (excellent) song "Amazing" was a sign of things to come.

I loved the song "Jaded" from about 97 was it? Just Push Play was a success and I like it, but not really their best, I believe they have one or two more classics in them yet.

"Hey j-j-jaded, you got your mama's style
But you're yesterday's child to me"

The opening line to this song is very symbolic of Tylers longevity as a front man in the business
