dunno but if I were a bettin' man I'd say below $50. Of course, we make the game, we don't price it so don't quote me.

rrp would highly likely be $99.95 if released before the PS3 in march.
EB games etc would likely sell it for this where as JB HIFI would release if for $87 or so til it's eventually cheaper.

If it's released after the PS3 then the price would have to be decreased by those who price it.

I can't wait. Played 2006 for a good 6 hrs last night.

i also think bannana kicks should be bought back into the game. it was quiet successful in the previous years and i think it will be another great feature.quote]
Yeah i agree, FH any news on this?

Nah couldn't sleep stressing about content in the game - making sure all the i's are dotted and the t's crossed. The Xmas break cuts production time down as everyone tends to take a week or two on top of the standard break so we're all working hard before the break.

FH, I thought in the start of the 'AFL 2006' Thread you said that your friend was the on working for the company, not you? did your friend give you his Bigfooty account?

How about they get EA Games to make it then it could be released with all their other titles? They make the best sport games so why not try with an AFL game...

From what I've heard, EA don't want the AFL game rights....
And seeing the improvements from AFL 2005 to AFL 2006, I'm more than happy that IR Gurus have the rights.
2006 was great to play with mates....it really brought back the fun that was missing in some of the previous iterations.....ya just know 2007 is gonna be another great improvement...

EA did say that they aren't interested in making another AFL game because of the very limited market it has.
I'm more than happy to have an Aussie company develop the game. It's also a nice change to see a company get involved with its consumers to find out what they like/dislike and want/don't want in a game.

yeah im happy with IR gurus doing it. Im also trusting this next game to be a huge improvement like the last was :D

Haha cant forget the good old smilie can we :D

Are you happy with how the game is coming along FH? obviously your gonna say yes but can you see it being a big improvement like the last was?

After 2005 I was furious that IR kept the rights but after 2006, I am very happy with how this BigFooty thing has helped and the progress IR have made =D

EDIT: I was playing Footy Fanatic and wondering if any features could be implemented in 2007. Then it hit me. STAT SNIFFER! Stat Sniffer is an incredible feature of Footy Fanatic that keeps track of EVERY SINGLE stat in the history of your career and you can look at real-life stats from past seasons.

Surely a feature like Footy Fanatic's incredible STAT SNIFFER is possible?

EDIT #2: The season stats (with leaderboards and for Reports and Injuries a round by round list of injuries) kept in Footy Fanatic are: Kicks, Marks, Handballs, Disposals, Goals, I50s, R50s, Clangers, Hitouts, Frees For, Frees Against, Media Votes, Reports, Injuries, Media Votes.

And you can view these of past seasons (of Footy Fanatic): All-Australian teams, Draft Picks, Club Champions, Coleman Medallists, Norm Smith Medallists, Brownlow Medallists, Rising Star etc.

Maybe you should try Footy Fanatic and see all the stats kept :thumbsu:

Ok I'll get the 'yes' out of the way :)

My reasons for it? There are definite graphical improvements that are taking shape and the 'backend' of the game is taking a beating which is a good thing. Gameplay has been a focus as we're conscious of attending to the grievances posted here and elsewhere from the previous version(s).
There's still a lot we wanna do but we're well into our development period. Fingers crossed we can get as much in as possible!
All in all it's an improvement on last year and that's a great thing - it's all we can ask for.

I asked about something like that a while ago and unfortunately it takes up too much memory on a PS2 to record it. We'd be robbing something from somewhere else to get something like that in. It kinda defeats the purpose but yeah I understand why a footy fan would want it in.

We're pretty close to that list except for media votes, reports and injuries at this stage. Who knows?

Again, it's a memory issue that doesn't allow us to do this.

Trust me matera_goal I have had a real good look at it. At the end of the day however Footy Fanatic is a management style game and our no.1 goal is to create an arcade match day experience with a bonus of management options.

FH, have you decided how club best and fairest are gonna be determined? will it be the same as last year with it being decided by brownlow votes?
Also Will there be media votes or anything like that?
Lastly, Will there be rising star awards or all australian selection at the end of the year??

Cheers

Yes I have a midfielder who averages 20 disposals per game, most of his kicks are assists but he is not rewarded for the high assist and possy ratio. It always seems to be forwards that get recognised.
Maybe the brownlow and best and fairests could be decided by things like:

• Accuracy Rate - for foot and hand skills.
• Assists
• Tackles
• Games played in the season.
• Free kick ratio - if he is a constant "bender of the rules" or a "fair player"

maybe you could develop a script that calculates these things and then awards each player with a score. At the end of the season the player with the most points wins the B&F or brownlow. :thumbsu:

Now I'm not a computer code thingy kinda guy, so FH am I aiming a bit high, or are these things that a coding team could create?

Re: AFL 2006 Talk

Positives are that it is the best AFL game ever, not very hard to do considering past installments but it has improved massivley, the gameplay is awesome and very fun, it takes little time to get used to the game and controls and the association mode is very fun with the inclusion of the salary cap.

Negatives would be the sometimes slow movements of player and reactions, also the trades and salary cap(Yes I know I already mentioned it as a good thing) can be a bit iffy in its realism.

Compared to other sport games such as FIFA, NBA 2K, PES, NBA LIVE, NFL, NHL and others it might be a year or two behind but it is definetly a game worth getting in the mean time.

I hope that you provide alternate controls this year, and not have solely the analog controls like last year. If you want to have the analog feature, fine. I think that you should also include using the d-pad to move players and tackle.

Maybe you could make it that it has normal controls for all your basics (kicking, running, tackling, marking), by operating the d-pad, but using the analog stick rewards you further, such as making your kick longer, or bumping your opponent harder or something. This would provide an incentive to use the analog stick.

Ranking Players
We are in the process of implementing a new player ranking system that will allow us to determine who are the best players on the field ranked from 1-44(48 in preseason). It's based on disposals and the like along with effectiveness and is compared to any opponents throughout the match. (I could go into more detail but it's quite complex). It basically allows us to determine more accurately who is the best on ground rather than just totalling disposals/goals which has unfortunately been the case in previous years. This means defenders who play well will be ranked better in the game for their performance.

B.O.G. Award
We'll display the best on ground award at the end of the match along with the best 5 players from each team (in no particular order). That's as close as you'll get to a media award me thinks.

Club B&F's
These players who are named receive votes that go towards their club best and fairest so this year brownlow votes have nothing to do with club B&F's.

Rising Star
Only if there's time (and at the moment I doubt it very much) will we be able to add an award like this to the game. Sure, we can gather the data to determine who is the best player based on the criteria of the award but it's the time that it takes to tee up such an award that we can't afford at the moment.

All-Australian
We're hopeful of getting this in but like with a lot of other things it's a matter of time. If it does go in you should be able to play the all-australian team in single match mode.

To be honest there are no plans to offer alternate controls. I'll bring it up but I don't like yer chances I'm sorry.

Damn FH Im really impressed with the way this is sounding. The BOG System sounds much improved, and the club B&F is a hell lot better than before. Is there a high chance about all-australian??

Also I was wondering if during season mode if you went to click on your players 'profile' then you could see all the awards he has won during his career? Any Chances of something like that??

Also Is still gonna be heaps of different Footy jumpers you can choose to wear like you said? or has that idea been scrapped??

Cheers:thumbsu: :thumbsu: :thumbsu: :D

All-Australian is about a 10% chance at the moment.

No to career awards unfortunately.

The jumper idea is more likely than others.
