We’d be much better with an in-form Max King in the side. As long as we don’t just bomb it to him when he’s being double or triple teamed all the time.Like a small Max King....but good!
Sharman had a 10 coaches vote game against Essendon late last year as well. 21 disposals, 10 marks (3 contested, 5 inside 50) and 3 goals, and was dominating the forward line like last night.Yep, hes having a career game
In form? Sure. But he can be a demoralising presence at other times. I just prefer Sharman as a player and his all round game. King can be a secondary target though, sure. We’d be much better with an in-form Max King in the side. As long as we don’t just bomb it to him when he’s being double or triple teamed all the time.
He’d be an enormous upgrade on what we’ve gotten from Keeler for a lot of the year and on what we got from Caminiti for a lot of last night.
Oppo teams don’t worry about them, but they worry about Max. He draws multiple defenders to him.
Sharman is a much better kick for goal though. He missed a couple last night but he’s usually deadly accurate and can nail them from outside 50 as well. He’s a hell of a good kick.
I took a date to that game and...yeahWorst game I've been to
Wow. This post shows you don’t watch a lot of footy outside of your club. The club of untalented players having career games against us is large.

Lazy to suggest the reason for the game not being a spectacle was Ross Lyon, but not surprising you are basing your opinion on watching the highlight reel. Thanks for the opinions, but that was ugly stuff. Objectively Ross Lyon makes our sport worse. Pies don't play the prettiest but your mob make us look like the Lions.
I'm sad the league is so screwed that St Kilda has to resort to this.
Oh well, they say you always remember itWow. This post shows you don’t watch a lot of footy outside of your club.
First time I’ve heard anyone suggest Mitch Owen’s is lacking talent
Would it be lazy to not realise I watched the first half before switching off in disgust?Lazy to suggest the reason for the game not being a spectacle was Ross Lyon, but not surprising you are basing your opinion on watching the highlight reel.
St Kilda weren’t ultra defensive last night. Freo got absolutely smashed in the contest. One of the most lop sided contested games you will see.
Very hard to score when you can’t get your hands on the footy and then try to start a chain from deep inside your defensive half each time. Especially when you are coached by Longmuire who struggles to get his team to move the footy with any attacking flair.
The argument that St Kilda were plus 28 in clearances and plus 49 in contested footy is weak?Would it be lazy to not realise I watched the first half before switching off in disgust?
"St Kilda weren't ultra defensive last night" is a silly statement, in the first half they were flooding as much as the rules allow. Freo self destructed in the second half and some messy goals slipped through.
Its ugly footy. That's an opinion, you can have your own, I'm sure mine stinks, but the Saints ITT coming up with "no you're flat out wrong" sound silly, and the arguments to back that up are weak.
True. There’s a big difference between his best and his worst. Hopefully that will improve with age and experience. Apart from anything else, I think he puts an awful lot of pressure on himself. In form? Sure. But he can be a demoralising presence at other times.
If Max was the secondary target that would be delicious, as he’d just float over the top and take mark after mark.I just prefer Sharman as a player and his all round game. King can be a secondary target though, sure.
Max would never be a secondary target to Sharman.True. There’s a big difference between his best and his worst. Hopefully that will improve with age and experience. Apart from anything else, I think he puts an awful lot of pressure on himself.
If Max was the secondary target that would be delicious, as he’d just float over the top and take mark after mark.
Max drawing defenders and leaving Sharman to float over the top could also work really well, with that leap of his, and his hands.
No that's all correct, but it's got nothing to do with what I posted. The argument that St Kilda were plus 28 in clearances and plus 49 in contested footy is weak?
If you are getting the ball up your end that often it makes it very easy yo set up defensively. And it's hard to flood back as much as the rules will let you when the ball is constantly up your end (almost double the inside 50's)
Freo are poorly coaches side that can't move the footy at the best of times let alone when they get smashed in the contest and the can't get the footy up their end of the ground.
I doubt you've actually watched a lot of St Kilda this year if that's what you believe. No that's all correct, but it's got nothing to do with what I posted.
I maintain St Kilda play ugly footy, and I think Ross Lyon makes our game worse.
Your responses have been a waste of time.
Well I agree Freo looked bad.I doubt you've actually watched a lot of St Kilda this year if that's what you believe.
An average total score of 180 points per game suggest its fairly free flowing and not that hard to score.
Freo just stink
