AFL Live 2003 - Errors & Problems.

Here is a thread where you guys can post any problems or errors that you have found with the game. There is a couple I know of so far.

PSX2

1) If you take a mark in your defensive 50 just in front of the goals, your player will run back into the goal area to line up for his kick....if you then play on from here, the umpires decide to throw it in from the boundry instead of awarding a rushed behind.

2) The one about kicking it into the goal post and still being awarded a goal. This happened last night.

3) I tackled a player over the goal line so it should have been a rushed behind, but hit the ground (even though he was over the line) the ball fell out and he was called for throwing the ball....

4) You can't play on from an out on the full.


That is all I can think of at the moment. Feel free to add....

During the 3rd qtr in my first game ever... with about 1 min to go there was a ball-up in my forward pocket. The ball was thrown up and me and my mate missed the tap, the ball just fell to the ground and we couldn't pick it up! Both of us just ranaround, could bump each other or anything. We just waited till the qtr ended and then the 4th qtr started and everything was fine. Has this happened to anyone else?

I haven't played it since, so i don't know if its a common problem...

I haven't played it since, so i don't know if its a common problem...

yes this happend to me aswell but i just kicked the ball off the ground till it went out of bounds.

One thing that has been bothering me is the fact that the replays are incredibly short and from too far away. In the next incarnation there should definitely be options to control the replays and even save them, like on the PC version of AFL 99. Seeing only the last few metres of a brilliant kick for goal from outside 50 on the boundary surrounded by opposition players isn't really just reward sez I.

Apart from that and the commentary and the fact that marking is virtually automatic and the inconsistency of the crowd noise (quite often big speccies will meet silence from both crowd and commentator) and the lack of season stats, it's a rather nifty piece of software.

Agree with all that, especially the replays.

Commentary is occasionally incorrect (eg. a kick that doesn't go 15 metres is called a mark, even after the umpire calls play on), it is seemingly impossible to lay bumps, kicking off the ground rarely works no matter how much I hammer the button, forwards aren't marked at a ball-up in the centre allowing an easy goal, the player who leads the side through the banner is called the captain by the commentators but is really full forward...
