I know both are fairly old now, but I was wondering if anyone has compared AFL Live 2003 and 2004 (Playstation 2 versions). Any significant differences? I bought 2003 when it came out, but wasn't greatly impressed by it. Is 2004 worth getting?

There is mistakes gallore in 2004, wrong player commentary, freezing, wrong team commentary. It didn't seem they made much of an effort to fix them.

Id rather EA do it than bloody acclaim.

Meh...wouldn't bother me. The commentary gets so repetitive anyway that I turn it off.

I have an email from Acclaim saying it is. Don't tell me they dropped it at the last second

The beauty of 2003 over 2004 is that the bugs were neglible.

What 2004 gets right however is the flow of play - smoother, a bit more pressured in the midfield and players actually fall over here and there in contests. Some of that might have been in 2003 but 2004 just has a bit more 'chaos' about it.

Commetti does a much better job that Lyon despite the same problems with choppiness. I don't get Lyon in either Sheedy or 2003 - it's like he just didn't want to do it - not very professional as we know he can like hamming it up.

But as we all know, 2004 is riddled with horrible bugs, including, and this is the worst of the lot imo, the team lists don't save. So every friggin game you have to spend 2 minutes getting your list ready, or bite the bullt and play with the horrible outdated lineups (for example a third of the default Roo team is retired or delisted).

Since 2005 is over a year away, I don't think you can go wrong with Premiership Edition - which is 2004 without the bugs. But just keep in mind it will never beat Fifa or Madden.

think ill save the 50 bucks and drag out the cardboard oval and 5 cent piece and start playing on that again seeing changes are minimal, fixtures will change every yr and the teams taking the field will not be a problem as my imagination will let me play who i want where i want:D

2 player mode and gamepad calibration are a cinch

And no bugs, except of course if a cockroach gets in your box or something :D
