Since when is it legal to scalp tickets at Ticketmaster?! Trying to buy tickets to tomorrow's game take clients out and GA tickets are being sold for $55.20 $30 above face value. WTF!
Angry!
Please move if this doesn't belong here.
Absolutely disgraceful!

Didn't know they offered this service, but it looks like the Sydney game redirects to their resale site. Guessing to be a viable alternative for sellers they'd have to allow higher prices otherwise everyone would just use ebay/gumtree.

Your being ripped off by someone

All MCG and SCG games are sold by ticketek.com.au NOT ticketmaster.com.au

I really should've been up on this :(

I just went through it again. If you go to the fixture for Collingwood and go to Anzac Day there is a ticket button. Click club members and public reserve, then best available seat and seats are still available Level 1 behind the goals for $50. I'm spewing, I paid only $13 less for Level 4, Row J. Get on it!

I bought an ANZAC Day ticket in the nosebleeds from AFL site last week for 38.70 and it still hasn't arrived. Getting a bit worried I got shafted.
If it seems too good to be true, it probably is lol.

Seems legit to me. The AFL wouldn't link to a scam site, I got a confirmation email from Ticketek. I just bought a Level 1 Wing seat to Collingwood Carlton for $36, this time I got EZY print though. Got the ticket in a PDF from an email straight away.

Then Contact the AFL Tommorow about it

Yep I checked too, thanks for the heads up. Will see what I can do about locking some tickets down through friends but if not I'll take this option tomorrow morning. :)

Wait....Ticketmaster has a site that basically is for scalpers?

What in the blue hell?

Yeah, apparently they do and it's arguably worse as fans like the op don't expect it. The game was listed amongst other events, but with a small (rs) next to it. The redirect message only came up briefly while the ticket page was loading. Reckon it would catch more than a few out.

That is shocking as wouldn't that mean sellout is not really a sell out as they hold these tickets back to sell at a high price?

From what I gather the tickets aren't being sold by ticketmaster, their resale page is basically a classifieds site where people who have already purchased tickets can on-sell them for whatever price they like. It's only weird as people expect ticketmaster to be a direct sales point instead of a pseudo ebay/gumtree.

Just shows that AFL is no longer game of the People

Agree its a bloody disgrace - the process has to have been approved at the highest level of the WAFC. The new stadium expects to increase footy tourism to WA  ... SNAFU
