Big Bash was the solution of broadening the appeal of long form cricket. AFL does not need a short form.

AFLX won't have international appeal, won't have appeal to the purists and am I correct in saying it runs at the same time as finals? What's the bloody point.

It's gonna have the same feel to it as Rugby 7s. Open play, easy scoring, minimal defence. But not even close to the real thing.

They've already got a fast paced, easily marketable game. The comp has been as even as it has been this year. Why are they so fixated on this notion that there's something wrong with the game?
