Senior List
New to this posting stuff, so please bear with me.
Looking at age demographic of North vs the other lower rung teams (from Footywire)
North
Our top 10 oldest, Parker & Larkey the top tier (in my opinion) of that list
Jy, CZ & CD in the next quality tier (just).
Not that much quality in our older players, our best players in the younger group other than LDU & X who are around 27 (12 over 27yrs)
Richmond, bit of a different story with their list build
Top 11 oldest, all key players (other than Lefau), although Miller & Bolta only 26. A drop-off in the next group till you get to the kids they drafted last year. Interesting whether they will have a hole in the build if they lose those experience players
Blues
Top 11 oldest again. Cripps, Hewett and Weitering are top tier, rest are just honest solders, although Harry has had his moments, Pittonet has been ok this year and should dominate on the weekend unfortunately.
17 players 27yr and older. I wouldn''t say their kids are standouts other that Jagga.
Eagles
Top 11 oldest again. All very important (bar maybe Owies, Cole) and need to stay fit for success, will be interesting to see whether Yeo out hurts.
Losts of quality in their kids, midfield a bit light on (opposite to us). Done well to add 24-26yr olds to cover the experience as they retire.
Last for now as I don't want to bore you
The Filth
13 over 27 only 1 over 30. Merrett is obviously top tier (well done FOS), Wright, Langford (I rate him, doesn't mean much) Redman, McGrath next tier. Game seems to have gone past Parish. Some good kids but a quality gap in the 22-24yrs olds
Won't do all the teams but some other numbers, Collingwood have 10 30yr olds and 18 over 27yr, Cats also 18 over 27ys and 9 30yr olds.
GoDees have 12 30yr olds & Fritsch is 29, but that includes May who's gone. Brions have 17 over 27yrs
Thanks for listening to my TED talk
Cheers Stu
