Unfortunately James McDonald and Cameron Bruce in my opinion have both lost a yard in pace, which despite their continued best endeavours has meant they are unable to find as much space as they used to, the result being they are under more pressure when disposing of the ball. They are still definitely worth their places in the side the question is which positions now best suit them.

Agree with you here mate. Although to be fair, Bruce has had some really good games this year and I can see him having a couple of years left on our (or someone else's) list.

Junior on the other hand, hasn't been great. He has just come back from a groin injury though and he's been a great servent for the MFC.

The way I see it, we really need to go for youth - when you think about it, most of our better/most exciting players are very young - so Junior shouldn't be on our list next year and Bruce could maybe get a year or two, or may be a possible trade if we can get a late second/early third rounder for him.

The way I see it Junior is of more use than Bruce, his leadership is much better, but unless we get great value for Bruce (same with Green) it is probably worth keeping both of them because they will help the young guys develop more than they will hinder them.

Bruce's first ordinary game in quite while and people are saying he's got 1 or 2 years left. He's what? 28?

He's got at least 2 or 3 good years left in him and I don't think there's any point trading him, need his experience around for the younger players. He's been great off Half Back and in the midfield, still has what it takes to play there.

Junior has just come back after 3 weeks off, still has another year left. The leadership the man has about him on the field alone is purely a reason to keep him around another year. Still have him running around the midfield with spells on the Half Forward line.

I like the fact that Bruce isn't very quick, isn't very hard and is not a natural leader but because the rest of the team is so shite and we have to pay 92% of the cap, he'll probably be on 500k+ next year.

Cam will be laughing his way to the bank.
