Just thought Id post a quick summary of the AGM last night for those who couldnt make it.
* About 150 there
*MC'd by Danny Frawley
* Whole meeting only lasted 30 mins
* NO questions from the floor, first time Ive ever seen this. Shows the members are pretty satisfied I think
* Peter Summers and Andrew Thompson retired as per rotation and elected unopposed for a further 3 years
* Peter Summers spoke on several issues. Dissapointed with no NZ in 2016... but Club still remains committed to a future there. Happy with financial result for the year but warned we are in for more challenges financially with no NZ game in 2016, the lack of revenue from Moorabbin during the redevelopment and the $5m+ the Club need to raise for that project. Said that strategies are in place to counteract these but didn't elaborate.
* Alan Richardson spoke at length about preseason so far. Has goals for scoring increases and scores conceded (Im not going to elaborate as it was a members only meeting after all ). he thanked the retiring and delisted players for their service, singling out Schenids as a possible future assistant coach should a vacancy arise. Introduced the first year draftees plus JC and Freeman onto the stage. He and Spud played a prank on them by announcing they were going to sing the Club song for us all....counted them in then laughed and said they didn't have to.
*A video was shown with highlights of the Sunshine Coast camp.
*Spoke to Richo and Peter Summers briefly after the meeting. Richo very bullish about certain players.
