I think this Freo board needs a little freshening up, so I thought I'd share with you one of the most exciting periods of my life...

This is an email I sent to a friend just after the world-changing event had occurred.

Some big news...

Last friday was my 18th birthday...what did i do you ask??
well i met HIM...yes thats right...the 2002 Brownlow Medal Winner...the 2002 All-Australian full back/forward...the 2002 Stawell Gift winner...yes you know who...KINGSLEY VERNON HUNTER!!!!

The Bulldogs were playing the eagles the following night and i heard that last time Kingsley was in Perth, he went to the trots the night before. So i thought hey he might do it again. So off i went to Gloucester Park hoping to catch a glimpse of the great man. With a pen and spectacular Kingsley Hunter photo in hand,(but what kingsley photo isn't spectacular?) i went in search of the kicker of this season's goal of the year...

My spirits were down initially as for the first hour or so i hadn't spotted him but i never lost hope and continued roaming Gloucester Park looking for the man with the silky smooth skills...

Out of nowhere i let out an excited yelp as all my dreams had come true at once, i knew that if i died now, i'd die a happy man.....as i had come across the greatest australian rules footballer the world has ever seen, yes Kingsley Vernon Hunter had just walked past me.

The unknown, and far less important male he was walking with heard me and turned around...his thoughts were written all over his face..."leave him alone mate...all those adoring fans have given him writer's cramp tonight....give him a little rest....one can only deal with so many fans"

But nevertheless i pressed on...

His attire said it all, thin tight shirt revealing his dedication to weight training and small shorts clinging to his bulging thighs. Did it worry him that it was barely 10 degrees?? No of course not, it was the least of his worries. While the rest us were thinking warm thoughts to keep us from freezing, here Kingsley was braving the elements like the true warrior he is...

Kingsley himself hadn't heard me (he was probably too focused on the game the night afterwards...which incidentally he was one of the best afield gathering 23 possessions running off half-back) as he walked into the casino to play a few hands of blackjack. I waited by the door for him to come out(impatiently), all the while staring at his perfectly formed facial features and welcoming smile. It seemed like an eternity before he came out, but in the end he did, through a back door, forcing me to desperately run around to the other side of the building to catch up to him.

After a short while i found him, he was placing a bet on the next race so i decided not to approach him just yet. He then walked outside and watched the race unfold. I nervously edged closer and closer to him and by the end of the race i was about 3 metres from the man whose figure covers my bedroom walls. He was chatting with Craig Callaghan so i just watched them interact with each other before deciding to make my move.
Craig Callaghan had been eyeing me for a while and then questioned me..."Do you want him?"(pointing at Kingsley)
I replied with an nervous "Y-yeah"

With new found courage i directly approached him and proudly admitted, "I'm your biggest fan Kingsley" and then i showed him the photo in which he is taking a huge grab at Kardinia Park back in 1995 (which was nominated for mark of the year). I think he was in shock more than anything. He let out an embarrassed "Oh geez" and i asked him to sign it which he gladly did. I remarked "It wasn't a bad grab was it?" He replied with a somewhat goofy "Oohh yeah it was alright" followed by a bit of a chuckle. I thanked him for the autograph and wished him good luck in the vital match against the eagles. He said thanks and i walked away with the best birthday present anyone has ever given me...

I guess he is an acquired taste... But once he has you under his spell, you're hooked for life.

Nope not gay, just able to appreciate a good looking man when I see one. What man wouldn't look good with a 2002 Coleman medal around his neck?

Listen man i think you would be happier if you just came out of the closet.....isnt your infactuation with Hunter telling you something??

That I have great taste in footballers, and that I'll be getting a hefty return on the bet that sees Kingsley wearing that Coleman with pride in 2002.

If an appreciation of Kingsleys many fine qualities means your gay, than u can call me Molly Meldrum

Esperito is merely saying what everybody else is too scared too admit

Is there something wrong with you Jod23? You obviously can't appreciate a great footballer, and dare I say it a handsome man. You don't realise how far Kingsley mania has spread, its sweeping the country. Kingsleys talents, looks, courage and charm have been overlooked for to long, it is time Kingsley was payed his dues.

And you don't want to start a war with the Kingsley army........... it's a war you will not win

Hunter

Two points re Hunter:

1) Bobbbeee Davis still reckons he is 'strange looking'

2) The first time I met him off the field I was surprised at how short he was.

Against those disabilities, good on him for giving it a red hot go at AFL level, and better still remanufacturing himself. Full credit to the man.

Two points re Esperito:

1) You are strange

2) You are disturbed

You forgot to mention Kingsleys well sculptured face and spectacularly toned body. Add to that the fact that he looks certain to win the Coleman medal this year.

And it isn't Esperito who is disturbed, it is the goose who accepted Brad Wira for him and all the people who do not appreciate Kingsleys talent, courage and movie star looks

It is obvious that Freo fans are suffering from post Kingsley depression. I must admit Freo are my second favourtite side, any side that gets stuck with Brad Wira and loses a dashing, courageous utility like Kinger yet still fights on has my admiration.
But remember just because he is no longer a docker doesn't mean you can't love him. Therefore go to the match preview and review board now and help me turn it into a Kingsley Hunter forum.
