this guy should never be able to pull on a st kilda jumper again, he is not part of any future improvement, cant chase, cant tackle and cant get a touch

I understand he's had a bad game but gee this is an over-reaction. He was good last week and the week before that. It's not his fault the delivery has been poor. He does need a spell in the VFL but to say he isn't part of any future development...

Plenty of Saints forwards had a bad day, largely due to delivery and lack of opportunity. Siposs was barely sighted, Big Ben was unseen until he went into the ruck, even Milne did barely anything forward.

Agree ace man...not one kick in a whole game is a disgrace. Might as well as we'll play curren or ledger. Watters has got no idea !!!!!!

Saad (not Saaf) is a crumbing small forward, wich is widely regarded as one of the toughest positions to be consistent in. Wich is why Milne is so highly regarded in this position.
When a team is playing crap a small forward might only get 3 or 4 chances a game. If you mess them up you get crucified.
If we were firing on all pistons in the middle and the ball was coming in better he would get more oppotunities.
But YES he can be poor defensivly. YES he might need a run in the twos but to say he should never pull the jumper on again sounds like an overreaction from a frustrated supporter.

To be fair, I think he played better than Ahmed Saad....... :p

I was almost going to pull the pin on the whole thread - if you're going to target a player, know how to spell his name (otherwise you just appear to have put absolutely no thought or effort into your post). And this board, as far as I'm concerned, doesn't do the "get him out of the team" line if you haven't (now or previously) said what the alternative is - particularly noting that Sandringham got flogged yesterday.

However, a discussion on this topic is overdue.

Maybe I'll just repeat myself, and see whether I get any different feedback. Can't believe it has been allowed to continue.

I'm also not that keen on all these outside small forwards (although Saad does usually try to lay tackles - even if tonight he was off). Need a bit more physical pressure than that.

Milne used to be OK overhead, but now all three of the small forwards have no presence overhead.

Saad is getting opportunities not afforded to other players. He's lacking confidence and was terrible in the first quarter again. But he gets on the end of a couple and people don't seem to worry about it. We need the extra mids - not small forwards who might chip in every now and then.

Harsh on Saad. Today's game aside, he's developing very nicely and it's not uncommon for small forwards to be blocked out of games completely. Maybe needs a few pointers from Milne.

Saad's been poor recently but he's worth sticking with.

He also deserves to have his name spelt correctly FFS.

Milera also needs a rocket as he has the talent to be the crumbing forward we desperately need.

I cut him major slack because being a crumber in a bottom 4 side is just about the worst position you can play.

We all saw it last year, was a pure excitement machine.... he can play.

Massively down on form and struggling to even find the ball like many. They need a motivator

Never again. Ok Saad's gone.

Siposs only had 2 kicks. Is he out for good too, or will you give him one more game, before he is to never play a game again?

And so on and so on, through the list. How long before we don't have enough players to field a team?

Melbourne took your approach last year and delisted 14 and how is that working for them?

Fair enough that he and others are down on form. No worries, back to Sandringham, to get form, work on parts of the game that are problem and then work his way back into the team. But knee jerk calls like this are completely pointless.

If you are old enough and can remember, cast your mind back at how long and how much effort it took from the dark days of 2000, to when we were challenging the top four. We have a lot more games like today ahead of us.

What a load of crap. For starters he averages the 5th most tackles of the players who played North.

If we can get a decent midfield it might be worth having forwards.

But as it is, we're probably better just to have a few more mids, who can run to the forward line on the off chance that it goes there occasionally.

How can you call for a bloke to be sacked when you don't even know his name? Yeah he had a shocker and will have to find form at VFL level but give me a break, there is honestly nothing I hate more than a supporter who does the old "sack the coach, sack this player" when we are struggling. A total lack of even the most basic knowledge of football and our footy club.

definetly has to be dropped. Needs confidence and won't get it playing woefully getting a couple touches a game at AFL level

The logical conclusion is to sack them all and disband the club, or admit that getting rid of players doesn't make you better.
