Can anyone tell me the go is here? How can he get picked up if he can't be on a list till January 1st?

And is he likely to get picked up? AFL article says he has been training heavily with Northern Bullants captain.

Tigers and blues interested

Someone will give him a shot.

He was a handy fwd pocket, and if he was a second small forward he could be good. Think he'll get a rookie listed spot somewhere. Kangas could benefit from him. Better than Nahas

From what I understand Saad has a gentlemen's agreement in place to return to the Saints as long as his fitness stays at a certain level.

I'd love him back at the club but if other clubs are willing to draft him higher than us I wont lose any sleep over it

I hope he's used his time suspended to get rid of that ridiculous time wasting and cringeworthy set shot routine!

Good fit at the Saints.

We could definetely use a small forward, fills a need for us. For that reason I wouldn't mind us giving him a crack, but only with a PSD or rookie pick, not a ND pick.

He's been in contact with several clubs. Highly doubt he'll have to wait beyond the ND.

You mean the one that resulted in him being exceptionally accurate with his set shots?

Had kicked something like 12 goals 1 behind from set shots at one stage in his first season, with many/most of those shots being from 40-55m out. In our game against Collingwood at the MCG late in the season he kicked 3 set shot goals from outside 50m, including one from right up against the fence on the "wrong side for a right footer", from about 53m out. It was an incredibly effective routine.

With Betts gone and Garlett all but gone, Carlton would have to look at him.
Played at the Northern Blues for a few years so we'd be well aware of his work both gameday and on the track.

But it worked? He was fairly accurate aet shot.

Hoping we take him first pick in the PSD :)

Given that we are reportedly after 5 picks in the ND, I would think that if we are wanting him we'll probably be looking to use the last of those on him, if he is still available.

Don't like him. He averaged 8-9 possessions and had few scoring assists. The only reason players like him get games is because of the dilution of talent the two new sides added.

Saad doesn't need to have much of the footy to hurt you on the scoreboard, though. One of the advantages of being a dead eye dick.

With a 20m sprint speed of 2.80 odd and elite repeat sprints and agility he can also provide a lot of defensive pressure, hence having 11 tackles in one of our games in his first year. I would also expect him to be able to increase his disposal count once he's actually played more than 30 games at AFL level and more than 5 seasons of footy at any level.

This is bigfooty call him a dud or star and GTFO

of course Saad would 'pump up his own tires' so to speak. whats he going to say, oh, I haven't done much of a preseason, oh, I haven't worked hard" we will wait and see.
